All Access: SCAN LOGOS & QR CODES to Access Menus/Deals/Coupons by AllAccess.US

Description of App

Search or scan a logo using our Logo Launcher technology to instantly access talking menus, discounts, directions & more from nearby businesses! All Access is great for everyone, but is ideal for Blind, Low-Vision, Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Non-Verbal and Non-English speaking users. Menus and other options can be read out loud, using Apple's VoiceOver or our own high quality TTS (Text-To-Speech) by turning Talking Hints ON in the app's settings. You can 'build your order' and have it spoken out loud to the wait staff! This is great if you are deaf, hard of hearing, Non-Verbal or not a native English speaker! We are working hard to incorporate your feedback. Please tell restaurants and other businesses to add their info to the hundreds of thousands already in All Access. Per the 2010 U.S. Census, 15 million adults in America have trouble seeing, hearing, speaking or being understood, even with the help of hearing aids, glasses, or contact lenses. Smart businesses should reach out to accommodate those users and "Cater to your Community!"

Accessibility Comments

The latest update fixes some of the problems that existed in the initial release. Most notably, VoiceOver no longer reads items which aren't displayed on the screen at the time. However, there are still some issues - when viewing a menu, VoiceOver still reads icons as 2 separate items - the graphic and the text - the first of these is announced as an unlabelled button, but only the text is an active element. When viewing the description of a menu item, things are also still somewhat confusing without any visual cues. For example, pressing on a button labelled as description prompts you to submit a photo. But, overall, accessibility for VoiceOver users has gone up a notch.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

Most buttons are clearly labeled.

There are some minor accessibility issues with this app, but they are easy to deal with.

Other Comments

In the first release of this app, a local search would yield lots of results. However, in version 1.1, I am only getting 4 results! And, to make things worse, these 4 appear in each and every category! Somewhat odd!

We have received some great feedback, and addressed the voiceover issues. A free update is awaiting Apple's approval and should make most of your concerns go away. If you want specifics, the problem is that even though a new view completely covered the old one, making the old view invisible, VoiceOver still wants to let you interact with that invisible view. We have now made that view hidden as opposed to covered, and the problem has gone away. Similar issue with text fields used for display only. There's no need to interact with them, but since folks heard the phrase "text field" they thought they could type in them, but they are for display only. So we've made them hidden. The graphical buttons do the job so the text below them is redundant. Keep the feedback coming! There's a button in the app on the first screen that gives you a direct line to the developer! Thanks!

Nice. i did a podcast for my feed and I can say it didn't go too well. I'll do an adandum podcast when the update comes out. I also have a few friends using the app as well and they also said it needed a lot of work as well. Thanks for the speedy update and hope it shows up at my vertual door step by at least wednesday or so. lol!

Oh no I intend to wait until the update is released. I'm in the middle of recording a demo anyways, a singing demo that is. but if you want to take a look at what I did so far with the first initial release podcast, go to and check it out. I will be posting the addendum probably a few hours after the update is posted to the app store or when apple gets it to me lol!

I've updated my original entry above to reflect my thoughts on this update.

Thanks! The results algorithm hasn't changed, so it might have more to do with your GPS. The app lets you type in an address, so that could be worth trying. In the next update, the app will tell you what it thinks your address is, so that will help with debugging. We will fix the remaining voiceover unlabeled buttons issue and submit another update today. I have a question for you. Should we eliminate the Submit a Photo button if voiceover is enabled? It just seems to be extraneous. Thanks!

Cool cool. any further updates to the podcast will be made on my feed to as not to clutter up the apple vis podcast. lol. that's fair. and I'll do what I said and put the versions in the title, if I remember. lol! This product I know will be I think the best out there for us.. One of the menus that showed up disappeared but maybe they took it off of their site or something. lol! Take care and be blessed.

hey all, my question is when a eating place updates a menu on the site, will the menu in the app update, or will we have to wait for the app to get updated in the app store?

I'm thinking it will some how update on the app automatically. good question though and I forgot to leave that questioin in my show notes as well. I'll emend that tomorrow when I'm actually awake and not typing in my sleep. Hehaha. This app rocks! Be blessed.

Hi folks, Thanks for the comments and good questions. Since All Access gets its content from the internet, if the data is updated online, then the data will be updated in the app. No need to wait for updates. Restaurants should contact us if they have any questions. It's free to be listed and to be able to update your menus.

hi all, go grab the latest version of all acces menus from the app store. I do have one thing that I have just noticed, and that is some of the places, like the subway that is closest to me here at my house, does not seem to have a menu show up, even though voiceover seems to see one their. this also happens with two other eating places here, and the search nearby brings up a catagory list, instead of places to eat where you are located. other then that, this app rocks, and I will continue to give it high reviews and high ratings in the app store.

In earlier versions of this app, it found my location fine. I have noticed in the latest version of the app, I am at home in Queens NY, and the app is showing me restaurants nowhere near me as it is showing restaurants in New Jersey, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. Hopefully this is just a bug, as as the app is now, it is totally useless. Would love to hear if others are having the same issue. I have checked my location in settings and it had my location right, I even tried manually entering my location, but am stil getting restaurant results no where near me.

We have an update awaiting Apple's approval that uses a smaller radius (10km or about 6 miles) instead of the default 50km (about 30 miles.) This should help. In the future, we will let you specify the radius. Please remember to use the Feedback button within the app to ensure communication with the development team. Thanks! ---Todd

So I tried reading a Dairy Queen menu last night, and it just didn't seem to work. I know dairy Queen has blizards, but I just couldn't find them. I found my location, but I just couldn't read the menu very well. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. It seemed to jump around a bit. I have an iPhone 6s with the latest update.
