Accessibility Comments

This app is fully accessible and addresses many of the issues found in both the previous Facebook Pages App as well as some found in other Facebook products. An example of this is the method the main facebook app displays a post with a linked item and the corresponding description. With Voice Over, one can swipe right from the main post to the link's title, web adderss, description, likes, comments, etc.... In the previous Facebook Pages Manager, buttons were horribly labeled, and the layout left much to be desired. This new version addresses all of these items, and provides a very smooth and professional product for Voice Over users.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

All buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver and is easy to navigate and use.

Other Comments

If Facebook redesigns its other apps to mirror the major accessibility improvements seen here, then Facebook is on the right track for designing fully accessible and usable iOS apps. I would recommend individuals to simply download the app just to test it out. As a manager of some Facebook Pages for organizations, this is the first time I actually enjoyed using the platform. Regardless of what screen reader, browser, mobile, etc... I used before, this may become my go to method for managing Pages.

Hi all, I would just like to inform everyone who uses this app that from my playing around of the new version, which now stands at 2.0 To me at least it appears that Facebook has mirrored there Facebook app so that now the Pages Manager app has a UI that resembles the FB app that people use on there Iphone devices. For me at least, I have found this to be more accessible with Voiceover and a whole lot simpler to understand than the previous version 1.8 I would like to here what others have to say who uses the newer version. How are you finding it? Better or worse? I Look forward to your own opinions and thoughts. As always check out the release notes below. What's New in Version 2.0 We've rebuilt the app so it's faster and easier to use. • Scrolling through Page timeline is faster than ever • Photos open fast and close with one downward swipe • Posting photos with filters and auto-enhancement option • Send emoji and stickers in messages

Ny experience is that the current version does allow access to insights of individual updates via Voiceover. Even if you manage to tap on the View Insights button while Voiceover is turned off, not all contents of the insights page are accessible once you turn Voiceover back on. Or am I missing something? This is the main reason I use Pages manager app on my iPhone and I was disappointed about this.

Hi I don't actually know what insites are so would be interested to know but at least for me in the UK I have gotten another update for the app and here's what's changed. As of yet I haven't updated but you might want to give it a shot as it mentions "Insites." So I'd be interested to know if you find them accessible in this version. What's New in Version 2.0.1 New in 2.0.1: • Added back detailed post insights • Bug fixes and performance updates

The insights are information about how many people your update has reached. The information is divided into different sections which include e.g. the number of clicks on the links in the update etc. The today's updated application version does not make this information accessible via Voiceover even though reaching it visually is made simpler. Generally the accessibility of the recent versions of the pages manager app by Facebook is better thanbefore, but personally I use the pages app to get information on how well updates reach users and it is frustrating that this feature is not made accessible.

What's New in Version 2.1 - Upload multiple photos for a single post
- Edit Page admins: add new admins for the Pages you manage
- Improved insights to make it easier to manage your Page
- Edit Page cover photo
- Create a new Page
- Bug fixes and performance updates

I just installed the new update for this app, and was told you can tag people in a comment. However, I can't figure out how to do it using VoiceOver. Does anyone know how it's done? If so, any helpful information would be very much appreciated. Thanks. :)

Hi. I'm working with a student who really needs an accessible way to post to the Pages manager. She manages a page and finds it difficult to submit an original post, or comment on an existing one. I read previous Apple Vis posts on version 2.0, I believe, and now it looks like the app is up to version 6? Is anyone else having difficulty using this app to do simple tasks? Thanks so much.

Not really I can do most everything on it just fine. the only problem is the unlabeled butons at the bottom of the window. see this post I did for my podcast. I had some issues I told fb access via twitter and they said they would submit patches for these so we'll see.
