Rearranging iPhone icons using iTunes + JAWS?

Hey guys,

I've had my iPhone 3GS for several months now and love it to death. I recently found this site, as well, and have been reveling in trying out accessible apps recommended. As the number of apps I have continues to grow, though, I've come up with a problem - disorganization. I thought - no problem, I'll just rearrange the icons like I've been told is possible on an iPhone.

To make a long story short ... I can't seem to figure out how to do this without having the ability to drag/drop with JAWS. Is there some trick to doing it without the drag/drop? I attempted using copy (ctrl+c) while focus was on the app and then attempting to paste into the Utilities folder - no go. I did get a satisfying "copying ... please wait" and such, though didn't seem to get any actual change. Cut (ctrl+x) seemed to yield no response.

Is there something I'm missing? Is this even possible using JAWS?

I'm using JAWS 9.0 and the latest version of iTunes 10.

If worst comes to worst I can recruit sighted help, though I'd prefer to be able to make fiddly changes on my own rather than forever having to ask a friend or a family member to drag/drop things.

Hi IMHO this cant' be done using a Screen Reader on itunes, at least in Windows. You can arrange the apps on the IOS device itself using VO though.
See here for tips on doing this

#2 The guide posted above is

The guide posted above is good, although it seems to be more orientated toward sighted individuals. To organize your apps, double tap and hold, one finger on the app. Wait until it says move, then drag your finger to its desired place on the page, or drag it on top of another app to create a folder. To drag an app to another page, double tap and hold, and then drag your app to the edge of the page, a message will alarm you pause for page change. Moving and rearranging apps can be frustrating at first, but there some hints built in to the iPhone that will help when moving. After your done rearranging press the home button. Hope this helps!

#3 Arrange Home Screen podcast

I got started with the Arrange Home Screen podcast on the Blind Cool Tech website. The podcast gives a sense of how much you have to slow down, take a deep breath, and draw heavily on infinite stores of patience to master this extremely useful technique. LOL

Sometimes you just have to hold still or move very slowly to let the voice over feedback catch up with what is going on on the screen.
