Piano Sheet Music for Low vision User

I have a friend who plays the piano but whose vision is not what it used to be.

I wonder if there is any app or good source of piano sheet music that she can get on her iPad and perhaps enlarge the music with lots of contrast so that she can read it.

Are there any such solutions out there for low vision users?

Also, as an aside, if the app also supported some sort of play along function (like playing background while she plunked out the melody) that would be nice also but not necessary.

Anyway, I'm just wondering what is out there for low vision folks.

Thanks for any suggestions or pointers.

#1 Accessible Sheet Music for Low vision Users

If there aren't any apps that would help a low vision user read music on an iPad, software that runs on a Mac might also be helpful for my friend.

Thanks.

#2 Zoom

If your friend just needs the sheet music magnified and/or higher contrast, couldn't they get it through any sheet music viewer (such as purchasing it through MusicNotes, etc.) and then use the built-in Zoom accessibility feature on the iPad to magnify it?

#3 Re: Zoom

Since I have no vision, I'm not that familiar with the zoom feature. However it seems like it would be awkward navigating through the music if one had to zoom and continually move the focus side to side, up and down, etc.

My thought was if there was something that would put larger measures/bars (and thus fewer) across the screen, one could then just tap the screen to get the next screen full of music without a lot of gyrations to move the zoom around.

Don't know if something like that exists or how low vision users really deal with reading music in real time.

#4 Good Point

That's a good point about zoom. Hmm...
