Micro reviews?

I have been thinking about adding an extra section to the App Directory submission form, where people coule write a short review on the app. This would not be about accessibility, but simply an opportunity to say whether the app is any good. This would be an optional feild.

Anybody think that this would be a useful addition, or is it better to simply focus on accessiblity of apps (afterall, nearly every app has reviews in the App Store)?

I was also wondering about how this site should compliment the official reviews in the iTunes store. Shouldn't accessibility still be noted in reviews in the iTunes sotre since that will get the most attention and visibility from the developer?

I don't think this site should focus on reviews. I feel strongly all of us should be encouraged to post those in the iTunes Store. Important review-type info about an app can always be posted in the comments associated with its entry.

I think that it would be good for the individual to have a place to state if they recommend the application, as well as their experiences while using it.

Hi Matt,

What would be the basis or criteria for the recommendation ... the accessibility of the app? Or simply whether the person thinks it is a good app?

David, Well, the accessibility end is kind of covered. I was thinking along the lines of a personal recommendation for usability of the app (if they would recommend to others), and perhaps a short explanation. However, perhaps as a compromise, is it possible to display reviews on the Itunes Store on the pages through Apple Vis, or to provide a link (which I think is already done). Thank You, Matt
