Ipad two status while charging

Hi all. i'll put this here, because i think this is the right spot. If it isn't i apologize. If someone should choose to move this topic, or wishes i do so please let me know and i'll be happy to do that. I plugged my Ipad two into my Mac, to sync it and also chargeit. When i click on the lock screen, it will only go from the time, to the unlock button. No 67% charging message that my iPhone four has. Anyone know what's going on? Latest updates to the upad, so I don't know myself or unless I've just not realized this happens? My bro has had the thing for about a week plus. Thanks for any help, Siobhan
