Hi. I couldn't log into applevis.com. I tried using Safari preference passwords, but that didn't work, so I clicked on "forgot your password?" and waited for the email Applevis sends you when you click on "forgot your password"
When I got the email, I clicked on the one time log in link (that's how it is that I'm writing to you right now). Anyway, I tried to change my password. that's what the email was for -- to help me change my password.
Whistling on my merry way, I finally reached the Applevis page where I was supposed to be able to change my password.
To my utter confusion, the very first instruction I had to follow so I could get a new password was to enter my current password.
Uh . . ., what? Scratching head in puzzlement. Um, you want my forgotten (or present useless) password before I can get a new one? I already tried using Safari preferences passwords. That didn't work! Guess what? It didn't work here, either!
Getting a very bad feeling, I went ahead and again entered the password I had from Safari preferences passwords into the current password edit box, and again tried to continue.
Error message. Curiously, an error message closely resembling the error message I received in the beginning, you know, where I originally tried logging onto Applevis?
So there we go, boys and girls. If you forget your password and need a new one, be absolutely sure you have your forgotten password handy before you start the Applevis.com forgot your password process.

Clarification
Hi there Bruce,
I'm sorry to hear that you had trouble resetting your password on AppleVis. However, I would like to clarify that your description does not match the way that the password reset system works on our website.
After using the one-time login link that is sent to your email, you are taken to a page where you are prompted to enter and confirm a new password. You are definitely not asked to enter your existing password. The only reason you might be asked to provide your existing password is if you do not enter a new password at this stage, but instead navigate away to another page and then return to enter a new password. This is a security precaution.
If you do not enter a new password on the first opportunity after using the one-time login link, then for security reasons you are required to start the password reset process over from start.
Please note that we take the security of our users very seriously and our password reset system is designed to ensure that only the rightful owner of an account can reset their password. If you are still having trouble resetting your password, please do not hesitate to reach out to us for assistance.
Hi David, I think I know now what happened
David, quite right. I think what happened is that I used the link, was taken to the page you described, but instead of looking for what you described, I immediately went to my account/profile because that's where I thought the change password function was located. I was right, too, but there, as I pointed out, I had to enter my password before I could enter a new password. I hadn't realize that the one time log on link took me to a page that was actually my final destination for changing my forgotten password. Happily, though, I eventually figured it out.
Happy endings
Hey Bruce, I'm happy to hear that this is now resolved for you ☺️
