Accessibility hold times
This is becoming ridiculous! I get that there is a pandemic internationally widespread, but for the past month or so, every time I call Accessibility at the usual 1-877-204-3930, regardless if I choose option 1 or 2, even calling the regular Apple line, 800 APL care, Core is acting really stupid! It keeps teling me I'm at the very least caller 1000 in the queue. It doesn't even say extended wait time like it did before. Now, it just says I'm at least that far down in the queue, then tells me to go online to get answers to my questions instead, then disconnects me. First, the bugs in iOS 13.6 that have been there since God knows when, now Core... their phone system... acting like a dweebe, what on earth is going on! You can't tell me that I'm caller 4,426 in line for Accessibility at this hour of 9:54PM eastern time on 7/20. that's preposterous! Yup? As I type this, I called, and that's what it's telling me. Stupid Core? Where are the core admins when we need them! Has anyone else noticed lately the hold times seeming to be out of whack?
How the bleeping h e double hocky stick did I find out that Core is what Apple is using to backbone their IVR? Oh? we'll just say I have my sources, and leave it at that.
I just called, it gave me the accessibility message, it didn’t asked me to press any number, and then it rang the bell and Angela picked up the call from AppleAccessibility and then I hung up
I’ve seen you on the net for quite a few years, and your shitty attitude is catching up with you finally!
Even sighted people who call regular apple for help having problem getting someone. It is not about you.
I know they are in California, maybe they close at seven or something their time? I agree that i'm sure they are logged with a ton of questions, activating new devices and things. but to the poster before the last one? Dude, that was absolutely uncalled for. There's such a thing as respect for someone, even if I to can get a little angry and frustrated and have more than once gone off a little. This is why I stick to Google, and other resources, because of such a poor taste comment as that. And Chris, please don't think I was insulting your intelligence, I was simply pointing out a time difference. In short, we all know Apple isn't perfect and even when I've posted and gotten the answers of "I don't have this", or "I agree" and that's the end of the comment, i keep reading. It does annoy me with one line responses, I'd love to have a comment field where at least maybe three lines of text should be mandatory but I'm not about to tell admins how to run their site. Also some times there are language barriers which again can get a little under my skin but i brush them off do the best i can.
Thanks for your comment. I've not yet read that so-called "uncalled for" response you wrote about, but I'm sure I will eventually. People don't have to like my matter of factness. If they don't like what I have to say, they can move on for christ sake! Life's too short for me to worry about those idiots/trolls. I have bigger and better things/priorities to worry about than listening to a cry baby whine over my post, if that's what they were indeed doing. So quite frankly, I'm really not that concerned. If they wanna try pulling BS with me, lettem! They're only waisting their time.
Anyway, on to *your*! thought, this isn't just a timezone thing. Think about it. I called them at 3 in the morning. At 3 in the morning eastern where I am, that would be midnight there.
Plus, remember, too, they are open 24/7 in the Accessibility phone department, and even if not, remember finally, it's not just one call center. They have agents who work all over the globe. That said, 99 percent the time you'll get someone from the US, but even that being the case, I've gotten people on the east coast, central, mountin, you name it. So, saying they're pecific... I get where you're going with that, but that's not entirely a valid reason, though I definitely understand your logic of thinking.
Plus, remember too, this isn't just a bit of a hold time. Telling me at 3 eastern in the morning that I'm at least caller 1000 to speak to a representative? In all 14 years I've been an Apple user, I've never called *any!* department in Apple and gotten something like that until now.
Don't get me wrong here. I appreciate you testing the phone system on your end to see if you could reproduce, but, let's just play devil's advocate here. Let's just hypothetically say that there indeed was a long hold time for some weird reason. Do you think you calling, jamming up the lines even for that split second with a silent call really helped matters? Call, yes, but only if you really have an issue and plan to speak. Enough said.
Certainly you're entitled to it. Just remember this though. Have I attacked you directly through this site? Then, what's the point of attacking me with such negativity. Don't fight fire with fire, dude. Now, calm down for goodness sake!
I never said it was only about me. To do so would not only be stupid, but would be downright insulting. Plus, why would I stereotype their holdtime based on a disability? That's luticrus, with all due respect.
