Video Editing

macOS & Mac Apps

Hi AppleVisionaries! :)

Can anyone point me in the right direction as regards video editing?
iMovie is not exactly what one would call super intuitive. I believe there is an app called "Shave" which used to perform quite well copy-pasting and cutting video clips. However, this app was last updated 5 years ago, and both links to app support and developer website lead pretty much nowhere.

Here is what I aim to do:
1) Cut, copy and paste segments in a video clip and across multiple video clips; i.e. merge segments from multiple videos into one video.
2) Fade-from-black at the beginning and fade-to-black at the end. Cross-fade between segments would be a bonus.
3) Add music.
4) Add photos and determine how long they are displayed in the video.

I have tried VideoCam for iOS and am waiting from the developers WiseApps to get back to me with answers to my accessibility questions.
Have been waiting for only 2 weeks, so I am optimistic they must be getting back to me anytime soon! ;)

Looking forward to your ideas.

Best, Markus

There is a plugin for reaper to do just this I believe. I have to ask. Forgive any typing errors, I have keys falling off of my mac.

Hey there & Thanks for your response.
That sounds like a great idea! I wish there was a plugin for Logic. Unfortunately, the video track itself is not accessible in Logic Pro, only the audio material.

Nor is the video track in reaper but any changes you make to the audio such as muting also cuts the video to black. And any cuts in the audio also cuts the video timeline. I've edited several videos and renered them this way. I'm not grate at it, but it works.
