Removing a partition from a mac under OS

macOS & Mac Apps

Really struggling with this one and have searched but couldn't find a solution. I partitioned my macbook air a while back but want to remove the partition now. I've gone into disk utility and can see the two drives there, work and play as I have called them, but all options are greyed out. I have tried clicking on the resize buttons in the scroll area, but nada... Anyone got any tips for this. I just want to get rid of the work partition as I'm running out of space on the play partition...

Thanks for any help you can suggest.

First try erasing the disk and then remove the partition. You can also try removing it using the recovery HD.
