Recommendations for music creation apps

Forum
iOS & iPadOS

Hi,

I know I've asked this before but it was a while back so wondering if there were any other updates. What music creation apps do you recommend? I've got an iPad pro now and am keen to make magic happen. Specifically I'm looking for something to create beats and some synths, but then to be able to record live stuff. Forgive me if this sounds a little ill informed, I'm a musician and not really a tech head.

Gl w/that. I'll be following the thread. There are so many nice apps out there, & nearly equally as many that simply aren't accessible. I almost feel like there's some sort of invisible sign that says, "if you're blind, you're not welcome to the music creation party". It's the same w/hardware. It's really very sad, & when I contact app authors to inquire whether their app is accessible, there replies pretty much say, "no, our app is not accessible. Sorry about that. O, well". I'm sure some of it is that they can't even begin to fathom how to incorporate accessibility, but a lot is simply that they don't wish to be bothered, because offers to help go unheeded. I think the only way it's gonna happen is for us blindys to get together & do it ourselves, but Apple really makes it tough in terms of needing a Mac for development, which is expensive, plus having to pay a development fee. I understand app writers likely don't make much money, & the more time invested, the less profit there is, & if they don't perceive us to be a large enough audience to bother with, then the situation is going to remain as it is.

The situation is pretty similar on the Windows side as well--programs designed for music creation simply are not accessible. Sometimes software writers/vendors write back in response to inquiry & tell you that, a lot of times they just ignore it.

Well on the mac and iOS side of things, you can get garageband and logic, and now reaper with osara is made accessible on the mac too... It's really not a bad opiton. and there's ikaosilator for iOS which is also great. :)
