opening pdf files on my iphone

Hi everyone, I wonder if any of you know how i would open a pdf or compressed zip file on my iphone? I have tried to open them using an app called filer, and tried using ibooks, but so far everything i have tried hasn't worked! Can anyone help me explain how to do this?

Is it just a straight-forwrad normal .pdf file you are trying to open or does it have some sort of DRM? As I said, ibooks usually works just fine for me.

A drm? ... never heard of that one before! As far as i'm aware they've all been just normal pdf files!
