Hi,
I have sent a report to apple before that instruction floats back to the surface like a tturd that won't flush... Lovely...
I'm finding that voiceover is sometimes hanging in apps and in one case, trying to connect an app to google drive with the break out safari window, text input became unresponsive to the point of unable to use.
Is anyone else finding issues or noticed a slow down of voiceover?
I'm on an iphone 12 pro for reference.
'Also, only reply if you're having issues. Those folk who say it's all fine, I'm sure mean well, but it's not very helpful in tracking down commonalities.
cheers :)

Not me! In fact it's working even better.
To be fair, some of that could be that I just upgraded to a new phone, so what do I know, but Voiceover seems to be working very well for me now.
Not so well, it evidently…
Not so well, it evidently didn't read you the penultimate line of my post... :)
Same here on 11 Pro Max
Yes I’ve noticed this too. Its strange, I’m pretty certain my battery life is worse as well. VO just feels sluggish and lazy, feedback from keyboard input is laggy as well.
Performance issues when quitting an app within a folder
Hi,
Since 15.4, I'm having the following performance issue:
When I'm quitting an app by swiping up and the app is located in a folder, VoiceOver gets stuck for a while. It's not a game changer for me but I don't understand where such issues suddenly come from. 15.4 has, as far as I know, nothing changed regarding the handling with folders. Until 15.3.1, al worked very well.
Good point
It is strange, there hasn't been any new accessibility features introduced, nor have there been any real under the hood changes system wide so it is strange that this is happening. Until the latest release my phone was snappy, quick to respond. Now it feels like I'm using an iphone 8, if not older.
Of course, my phone is a year or so old now and has had its fair dose of drops and bumps which is why I was wondering if others were experiencing this on a software level as it's quite possible it is a hardware issue.
Anyway, let apple know if you can. It's a pretty obvious flaw that is system wide so I'd like to think they'll get on it pretty quicly.
Nah, that wasn't Voiceover, it was JAWS. LOL!
So, I guess what I wrote still stands. I haven't gotten stuck in anything, but I don't use Google Drive either.
Ha, fair play
You do raise a good point, it might be down to use cases, certain apps, certain VoiceOver settings with those apps and so on.
I just tried selecting text.
It was a disaster! I had to give up.
not sure if same issues, but iOS 15.4 definitely seems off someh
I seem to get stuck a lot in apps; swiping through doesn't actually change focus. Not sure if there's somehow an issue with my screen protector, or if there really are issues, but sometimes, it seems all but impossible to get VO to change focus to new items. Notice this most in Amazon app and the game Dungeons and Such, but it's also happened in safari quite often.
On a mostly unrelated note, I wonder when/if things will ever be fixed so that VO doesn't say "actions available" after every single line of an email that is being navigated through. I have hints turned off, so this behavior is exceptionally bewildering/annoying. It's been around for a while now, but it would really make me happy if I could read emails without that message being spoken almost constantly.
VoiceOver Laggy?
Greetings:
I am running the Alex voice on iOS 15.4 using an iPhone 12 Mini. I am not finding the lag that some folks are referring to here. Alex, for me, has been extremely responsive, even for Braille Screen Input. I am not sure why my experience is so differenct from everyone else's.
Cordially,
Curtis Chong

I thought i was the only with this bug.
It happens to me while using safari.
I have to close and reopen safari to fix it.
Getting stuck
I have had the getting stuck issue too though I'm not sure if that is new to this version.
Apple support told me to grab a log of anything that happens. Make a note of time and then hold volume up and down and lock button, then let it do it's think for about 15 minutes and then find it in general settings, analytics, and send it in with a description.
Not always the easiest thing to do when we just want to get on with our lives but might be worth knowing.
I haven't had nearly as many…
I haven't had nearly as many problems with Voiceover since I upgraded from an 8+ to a 13 mini. I don't know if it's because it's a new phone, or just that this one hasn't been used much yet. I heard people with multiple devices say they were having more problems with their older phones and not their newer ones.
Does the problem go away when you reboot your phone?
Just wondering. I still have IOS 14.
Not for me
Hi,
the problem still persists after a reboot. Hopefully they'll fix those performance issues in the future.
I'm running an IPhone8 and…
I'm running an IPhone8 and have not noticed these issues.
I have issues with my iPhone and voiceOver
Hi, I have issues with my iPhone and VoiceOver.
First of all,my Braille Display dosen't responding and there are focus with VoiceOver with BI 40 X Braille Display.
Seccond in Hebrew VoiceOver crashing when I am entering to VoiceOver settings when my Braille Display connected and there are words that dosen't reading at all or correctly.
My iPhone in Hebrew Interface and it's driving me nuts.
I am sending e-mailes to Apple accessibility teams about those things, and they reply to me:" We are investigate this issue".
it's interesting how much time take to them to investigating?
Upgrading to iOS 15
Do you guys have any focus issues with iOS 15? I have iOS 14 and I’m very hesitant to update. I’m using mainlyheading navigation in Safari and Google search. What are your thoughts? Thank you very much
Even on my brand new iPhone 14 Pro
You are not alone. I've upgraded my iPhone 8 to 14 Pro because I wanted better performance with Voice Over and to benefit from the new accessibility features coming with Lidar. But Voice Over performance is not impressive at all. Slow to move between home screen pages with 3 fingers, slow to react to commands.
I'm french canadian, using 2 languages. I thought that the automatic language switching may be the problem. I only used it in french and same thing.
In fact, my iPhone 8 and iPhone 14 Pro feel exactly the same, which is a bit discouraging.
I'm using it on a totally fresh setup, no added features. I still have some vision, using that iPhone without Voice Over enabled is just phenomenally quick.
My Windows laptop, quite old, is way more responsive on touchscreen than my iPhone 14 Pro, using Narrator which is not the quickest.
It can't be the text to speech performance, the new phone should handle that without any problem. But it hangs at times with Voice Over on.
That said, the image detection system on the iPhone 14 Pro is just amazing. So it's not a matter of CPU performance.
I hope Apple will help with this.
I also hope that one day, it'll be possible to Voice Over through speakers while using bluetooth for everything else. Voice Over over bluetooth is depressing. Not Apple's fault though. :)
