Looking for an app to make free phone calls

Does anyone know of an accessible app where I can make free phone calls to U.S numbers?

There's vonage and hey wire. There are probably others but I don't really know of any more as I don't need a plan like this, yet.

#2 I used talkatone before I got

I used talkatone before I got my iPhone. it lets you call any number in U.S for free. You could also text them for free. Both calling and texting are unlimited. they gave you a phone number so you could also receive calls and texts. it says something about google voice but it works for people who don't have that survice. all you need is a Gmail address. hope I didn't confuse you

#3 Oh I forgot about talk at one

Oh I forgot about talk at one.. I dunno though where the original poster lives if they have google voice as that's not everyware i don't think. It is though another option.

You can use it indeed to make outogin gphonecalls but no one can call you.I would consider both ways, and again this might not be aloud or avaliable where this person is going.

#7 Viber

Hello ...

Viber should work ideally I think (provided the persons you want to call have downloaded it too :-) ).
The labeling of the buttons could possibly be described as 'a bit quirky', but it's clear enough (for me at least :) ). Other than that, it works fine, you can call or send texts to any number. If the person has downloaded Viber and entered the number you have saved in your contacts, the name shows up automatically as a 'Viber contact' and you can call or send texts for free. All you need is patience :-) , since the connection is sometimes bad or fails. But it's free, so ... :)
I recommend it ... It's easy to download, you can just enter 'download Viber' into Safari, that works for sure :) .
Please let me know if you tried it, and if so, if you find it useful.

I hope I was able to help!
