Introducing Magnificent, a new magnifier app for iOS

App Developer

I am a visually impaired developer with Cone Dystrophy and 20/200 vision, so I think it is okay if I post this myself?

After trying out many of the existing magnifier apps on the App Store, I decided to develop my own app, because the existing apps did not address my needs. The app is called “Magnificent”, and it is now available for free on the App Store. My hope is that other people will also be able to benefit from it. I welcome any feedback and will continue to improve the app.

You can follow this link to try it out:

And here are a more detailed description:

A MAGNIFICENT MAGNIFIER APP!

Show the magnified view even bigger on an external display! Connect to an external screen with a cable, or wirelessly to your Apple TV with AirPlay.

#1 If somebody could please test and submit this app ...

Member of the AppleVis Editorial Team

It would be much appreciated if one of our low vision users could test this app and submit it to our App Directory. Thanks.

#2 Unlabeled buttons

Good day. I've noticed that there are some unlabeled buttons. the button that changes from auto focus to locked, and the stabilization toggle. Also, When the buttons are pressed the modes aren't announced although they are displayed and can be read with voiceover. These small changes labling the buttons and announcing the modes would be helpful. I am totally blind but do demonstrate low vision equipment and having speech identify modes is extremely helpful. Thanks for the great work.
