GoldGun, to be released on 31st January 2019

App Developer

We, at myTrueSound (Finland), are very happy to announce that "GoldGun, the adventure of a blind policeman", will be launched next 31st January 2019.
After few demos and few months of hard work we are getting kinda ready.
Betatesting process is going well.

The game is a cinematic experience (no graphics though) implemented with our own augiogame engine IMAGE (but we talk about that software other day). On the game, you will play through a series of 7 episodes the adventures of Soren, a blind policeman fighting against all sorts of criminals operating in the deepweb.

#1 assuming the game will be useable with voiceover?

This game sounds interesting. Although I'm not generally in to games involving crime, I think I might be checking this game out when it is released. One question though, will people who use voiceover be able to play the game? And will it be a free or paid app?

#2 thanks for the question. The

App Developer

thanks for the question. The game doesn't need voiceover. And it is fully accessible. It actually doesn't have visuals at all; it is only played thanks to immersive audio.

The game is delivered in episodes, because if we try to do it at once, we will never get it done. So we decided to publish each episode as we get them ready. If people buys the game, then we keep publishing. Each episode costs 2.5 €. We can't go forward for less (I mean, my team will go away if I don't compensate them, you know how this goes).

However, we have two other completely different games on the pipeline. We have done our own audiogame engine, that enables faster implementation of games. But I prefer to talk about that another day. : ) Stay tuned

#3 Great.

I will be looking forward to it.

#4 We are also really waiting

App Developer

We are also really waiting for it! Thanks!

#5 It sounds very interesting

I cannot wait for this game to be released. Definitely, I will give it a try. As for the prize, I don't really care as long as the game is accessible. We have to support the developers so that they keep making games.

#6 not a bad price to start with

$2.83 in American currency isn't a high price at all for a good game. My question though, and I don't know if you can answer it, is this: If we buy the first portion of the game, and then you decide not to continue because not enough people bought this first one, will each installment be able to be played as a full game rather than leaving us with an uncompleted game? I would hate to have bought 6 installments and then be left with an uncompleted game due to a decision to not produce the concluding chapter. Hopefully, wy wording wasn't too confusing. Thanks. Also, it makes perfect sense that there are no visual effects to the game. After all, the police officer is blind.

#7 Thanks!. We are trying to do

App Developer

Thanks!. We are trying to do our best. And more games are to come.

#8 Respond to @charles

App Developer

I understood the wording perfectly. Our plans are far away from discontinuing the work half way. Don't worry. We really want to tell the story until the end. At the same time, each episode will bring new surprises and new ways (we call them minigames) to interact with the game. And each will look more and more professional.

Really hope that you like it too.

#9 Yes!

This made me smile, thank you for all the effort! I'm looking forward

#10 Sounds Like Another Case Of Blind Justice

Hey, does anyone remember that cornball TV series called Mike Longstreet. He was that amazing blind cop with that amazing police dog guide. Makes me think of Alice's Restaurant and the blind judge. I wanna be the first blind astronaut; I wanna touch the stars!

#11 sound great

This game sounds great. I'll give it a try when it comes out. Cant wait

#12 wow! let's have some action.

I will really try it. but I have a question. does this game has a traler? if it does, send it in this blog.

#13 there will be a trailer

App Developer

Hi @roman. There will be a trailer, sure! It will be presented here, and also on other social media like our website or twitter. Stay tuned. Thanks for asking.

#14 cool game

Hey,
Cool game. Glad to see such a thing coming out.
So will the game be professionally voice acted?

#15 Very pro voice acting

App Developer

Hi and thanks for the question @techluver

Definitely yes. The game is a playable movie, and it includes action, but also lots of feelings, and the relationships between the characters get built as the game advances. That could not be solved with voice over, or with emotionless electronic voices. That being said, the process of finding adequate voice actors has been also interesting. And we are quite happy with what we got. But I can't tell more about that...yet.

#16 Since you are in finland...

Just curious, also since you are in finland, I'm assuming the game will come out in finnish and english? I think my friend would love to play it also if it comes out in finnish.

#17 this sounds cool

this sounds cool. I might just have to grab this next year.

#18 Only English

App Developer

Hi @techluver

This game includes lots of dialogues, so it is not only the challenge of finding voice actors matching the original ones, but also of translating the text from english to finnish. We were very interested in doing it in spanish too, but we had to cut down at this point our intentions to a realistic level, so that we could publish and see market response.

#19 testing

how can i test?

#20 about testing

App Developer

Hi @maxi and others that asked about testing

We understand the interest about testing the game, and still that is not going to be possible.

But to compensate you all, we will publish about middle of January a side story we created once, as a free to play demo version. It is a short one, it only includes some of the functionalities we are bringing into GoldGun, and it is not as cool as GoldGun....but nevertheless, it uses the same game mechanics we apply now, and the sound assets were also pretty well done.

More news about that soon

Best regards
david

#21 Sounds interesting

Hi, I definitely think that I will try this game when it is released. However, I’m using Safari and there appears to be nothing on your website at the moment, can anyone confirm that? Or is something happening on my end.

#22 Never mind

Never mind, I went onto my laptop and it’s working fine.

#23 how many game mode

hi!
does it have any game mode to let us play with other gamer ?
I hope it is a exciting game. not just a interacting novel or choice games.

#24 Looking forward to playing this game

This game sounds awesome! I will definitely be picking it up I'm January 31.

#25 good it works in Safari

App Developer

Hei @Michel Chopra. Sorry I did not reply before. I did not realize of your message before. I'm glad you visit our website. We are bringing some updates there soon, regarding a competition to win some episodes for free, and then about the other game, AudioWizards, we are working on.

#26 not multiplayer yet, but...

App Developer

Hi @ming
Very interesting question. Multiplayer is tricky. We did a demo before the summer, as a proof of concept, based on a escape room idea where two friends felt to be on the same space together. Even though it worked, we realized we need to work on it many many weeks before we get it done at a level which is pro enough to be published. I love to play multiplayer. Actually, I only play multiplayer. So it is part of our plans, and one day....it will be true. But we need more developers for it, and with current budget is impossible. If GoldGun success on sells, and the other two games we are preparing too, sure, we will try to scale up and bring multiplayer as default with our titles.

#27 well,

I don't mind it is a paid app/ games. I hope this games will be keep updating and last forever.
and I am looking forward to play it!

#28 is it too late to join the beta?

hey! is it too late to join the beta testing of this game?

#29 about betatesting

App Developer

Hi @ming

Betatesting for this game has been done locally. We decided for several reasons take a small of a risk and go forward. The main reason was money, e.g. I didn't have money further than till February for my main programmer, and the guys doing the audio for free needed also to get a deadline. That is why we decided to launch on 31st January, deliver the game in episodes instead of in a huge one, sacrifice on betatesting, start implementing the marketing, and see the response. Basically, everything was a minimization of risks.

We will get wiser with the time. I hope. And in the future, if still alive, we will do better beta testing.

#30 Infinite mode

Hi. After we play the seven episodes, will there be a way to play infinite, meaning that I would like to play the game again, however in a mode where you have to survive? Also will there be several weapons to choose from? I hope so. Thank you.

#31 about infinite mode

App Developer

Hi Erick. Thanks for asking.

We are working in the infinite thing too. Most certainly, you will be able to play all missions (what we call in the team minigames) without the need to listen all dialogues.

About the weapons we prefer not to talk yet much. That will appear bit by bit on the game. But there is fighting and shooting, specially from the third till the seventh episode.

#32 Pre-order

Hi, did you guys make this game available for pre-order?

#33 Pre-order

App Developer

Hi Michael!
Thanks for your question. No, we don't have yet the infrastructure and the resources to prepare the things in advance so well.
I'm glad that you feel interested about the game. Quite soon we are bringing new news.

#34 Beta testers wanted

App Developer

Hello, people! I'm Max from myTrueSound team. My current role is beta-test supervising. We just finished with internal testing and ready to invite some people to try our product. So, everyone who is interested and ready to have some fun, please send me your email on mytruesound.beta@gmail.com. Your email needs to be connected with your itunes account to make an invitation possible.

#35 testing

how many players can test?

#36 yes, we need 10 more betatesters

App Developer

Hello dear friends

We are very close to release the GoldGun Episode 1. As Maksim said a couple of posts above, we need still 10 betatesters for the last quality analysis round (I apologize that in audiogames.net we said we didn't need anymore, and now we change our opinion. It is I suppose how it goes on indie companies). So:

We ask five questions to those interested on helping us:
1 - Do you have TestFlight on your mobile phone?
2 - Have you done beta testing before?
3 - Will you provide us written feedback of your experience through a google form document we will send you?
4 - Will you keep secret your opinions about the game until at least the release date?
5 - Will you keep secret the results of your betatesting experience forever?

If you could answer to the five questions with a big YES, please, send us an email to goldgun@mytruesound.com from exactly the same email address you use to log in Apple Store. This way we can send the link to the right direction.

In that email write your name, your surname, your age, and the alias you use in this website (Applevis.com).
We will only take 10 betatesters at this moment. The selection will be done based on time of arrival of your email, and your participation background within this forum.

We apologize if we can't take all petitions in, so please, don't be negative if this time you are not in. There will be more games to come and more opportunities.

Selected betatesters will receive a link to download the game (expected on 21st January), and an email with the link to fill up the beta testing report.

Best regards
David

#37 alias

what is the alias?

#38 in your case maxi

App Developer

Hi Maxi
thanks for the question. My error. With "alias" I meant "user name"
Regards
david

#39 sent my email

I just sent my email, did you get it and is everything correct?

#40 update about betatesting

App Developer

Thanks to all of you that have applied for betatesting. I just send an update about the situation. We found many things to improve from the previous betatesting round, and we need to do quite few changes before we send you the new version. So if you applied, you are in, but it will take few days you get the link. Tomorrow we have team meeting, and I try to speed up the process.
Regards and thanks for the patience.
david

#41 Very interested in this game

Can't wait for this game to be released. It all sounds very promising and I know it will be an awesome game.

#42 game

what is this game about?

#43 According to the developer's description at the top of this page

The game is a cinematic experience (no graphics though) implemented with our own augiogame engine IMAGE (but we talk about that software other day). On the game, you will play through a series of 7 episodes the adventures of Soren, a blind policeman fighting against all sorts of criminals operating in the deepweb.

more info in this site, at www.mytruesound.com,

In other words, an interactive audio drama with various gameplay elements such as guneplay, and I am assuming investigation gameplay.

#45 No problem

No problem. And for those of you who don't feel like clicking the link ...:

Gold Gun is a cinematic -only audio experience where you play as a blind police officer investigating cyber criminal activity involving the deep web. For those who do not know, the deep web is the internet beneath the internet you know, a part of cyber space where google can not take you, and where you generally need a special web browser (and IP masking) to safely visit. while no less or more of a den of iniquity as the regular internet, the deep web still plays host to some very nefarious dealings, and even more urban legends and creepypastas. The places where the really shady business happens? Those are known by the term Dark Web. As I understand, what shooting there will be in this game will only make up a small portion of the actual gameplay - one of their "minigames" if you will. It is not a shoot everything that moves and get a high score type of experience - but more a single-player, narrative-driven one. One can assume there will be elements of investigation, and it has already been confirmed there is quite a bit of dialogue. In mainstream terms, this seems more along the lines of a "point and click" adventure game with light action elements. Since there are very few of these types of games blind people can play, even though they are probably some of the easiest to make acccessible, I'm quite interested in this.

#46 Looking forward to this game and wanted to beta test

Hi, I am wanting to test this game. I filled out the form yesterday and did not know if you were already full on beta testers. Thanks for meeting and I’m looking forward to it I stay in the game.

#47 Guys let me tell you something.

I gotta tell you something. I accidentally went on the Deep web with a secure browser known as Tore. And let me tell you that didn't go well. First off, they I didn't even click on any of the links but, they sell things that I don't think I cn say here. Like weapons, and all. Heck, they even have scams, for example they had the zombie virus scam, the Invisibility cloak scam, and they even have mystery boxes where you can open them and they contain weird things, for example, weird vials of liquids and unknown substances, oh my I can't even discuss this here.. But I saw some guys who went on the deep web and it's pretty scary. If, you ever go on the deep web I would use a secure method.

#48 The deep web is different then the dark net.

The deep web and dark net are both different. First the deep web contains broken links and also sensitive content. The dark net/deep web both contain places you can buy drugs and all, and also weird things. The deep web can also e used for activists and such. Not to get off topic here but just wanted to exampling things since I've kind of been on the deep web.

#49 deep web

i saw a video of the deep web mystery box and there was a bomb inside and they called the 911

#50 I had a fascination with this for a while

A few years ago I became fascinated by the deep web, the rumors, truths, creepypastas and randomness. The deep web at its foundation Is vast and somewhat complex, requiring a special browser to access its .onion links. It is vitally

important, if you are using the deep web to ensure you do it safely, using an IP address masking service, and preferably also using a secondary machine. Obviously if you provide banking information you do so at your own risk, one or the

reasons bitcoin is prevalent. At its heart though, it's no more evil than the surface net. Yes you can find nefarious, disturbing, illegal and immoral stuff there, but from what I understand, for every true thing you find there are a

dozen fake things. Most of the deep web is the stuff of cyber legend, red rooms, hiring hitmen, Porn of all shapes and sizes. There are horror stories of people stumbling upon things they never should have gone looking for and having

terrible things happen as a result. But a lot of that is fake. or at least enough of it that the deep web isn't the den of utter iniquity it appears. It's used for good too, just as the surface web is. Countries with rediculous internet

polacies can use it for activism and generally hiding their activity from prying eyes.

There are however some absolutely fascinating things on the deep web too. sites dedicated to alien activity, old blogs, sites from the 90s, shops dedicated to waffles (one of those odd things). mysterious sites with cryptic messages or

topics, You can go on the deep web and never know what you're going to get. It's also a haven for odd videos. I mean really odd. And some of them have very interesting stories or rumors surrounding them. The deep web is a melting pot of

inspiration, culture, activism, government secrets (or things pretending to be such) aformentioned creepypastas and interesting writing. If the developer uses even a fraction of what the deep web can offer as inspiration for this story,

it could be a very interesting tale indeed.

As an aside, the youtube channel Someordinarygamers has an entire exploring the deep web series which is fascinating, morbid, entertaining, informative and not too dirty because he sensors the really nasty stuff. Most of it is just

interesting and he does a good job explaining what he's doing. though he does tend to skim over what he's reading so you don't really get the full picture so to speak. Still, very interesting stuff.
