Easy way to chat on Facebook?

Hello Just wondering if anyone knows of a way/app to make it easier to chat on facebook. Right now when I am on the messages page, I'd have to interact with "scrollable region" then go down all the way to the bottom to read the messages . THen stop interacting and VO + Right to "Write a reply" to type a message. I'd repeat this everytime I receive and need to send a new message. Thanks

Hi, I use a chat client called Adium on the Mac. It allows you to log into your Facebook account and treat FB chat like an IM client. It's fairly straightforward and easy to use.

facebook messenger is good. You can't go wrong with that and it's very easy to use and very accessible.

Another suggestion

Hi. Have you tried to start a chat with an online person? If you just click on their name it should pop up and be easy to navigate. I admit to not trying this, but it seemed simple enough. i hope i haven't made you more confused? :(

They have facebook messenger

They have facebook messenger for osx? Do tell more. and as for adium I think something broke as I can no longer get fb to work, but I think it's because Im using a nightly build no the public build you guys have.

Hello. No, there is one I

Hello. No, there is one I found. I don't know if it is the one Kerby meant but there exists one. I don't know of its accessibility though. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/messenger-for-facebook/id635766841?mt=12

re: facebook messenger for osx

Don't buy it. it's $5 and all the reviews are very very bad. Tha'ts bad news for an app. It is amemmory hog, does not even open and just plain does not work.

Hello, I have not used this extensively, but I just successfully set up my Facebook account in the OSX Messages app.

  1. Open Preferences, go to Accounts, and then Add New Account.
  2. Choose the "Other" radio button and hit continue (or just enter).
  3. VO-left to the "type" popup menu and open it. Choose Jabber.
  4. In the Account Name field, which really should be called the Username field, enter user@chat.facebook.com. Replace the "user" part of that with whatever your Facebook username is.
  5. Enter your normal Facebook password in the password field.
  6. In the server field, put chat.facebook.com, and in the port field, enter 5222.
  7. Leave the two checkboxes unchecked, and add the account. You should now be all set.
