Introduction and App Builder Website

App Development
Hi everyone! I'm so sad that I've just discovered this resource. First, I'm a big Apple fan and I've been developing apps since around 2010 with various tools. Online app builders, with xCode and other frameworks such as Lua. I've decided to get my Masters and in my first semester I've realized that I love everything regarding making websites and applications accessible. And because of this I'm building an Accessible App Builder/Maker. Firstly, I'm almost certain that this is the direction that I want my Thesis. I feel very drawn to all things accessible and I'm happy to have found this website. Hopefully, if you guys don't mind helping me a survey or just answer a simple question. If you haven't program directly using xCode or any other framework, have you tried online app builders? My idea is to create an appbuilder website that is accessible and includes modules to build applications. Modules like button menus, list menus, note taking, rss parsers etc. I appreciate anyone taking the time out to read my first forum post of many to come! Sil

Hi, this sounds great and thanks for reaching out. I am just starting a HTML and CSS course, but app development is definitely something I'd be interested in the future so keep us posted.

Hello. Let me say that your project sounds like an extremely valuable one, with lots of potential. You are right that Apple vis is a wonderful resource and I am glad you found it to. unfortunately I have no experience creating apps with any services, although it is something I have always wanted to get into. I am sure someone on this sight will be able to answer your question. Once again looking forward to seeing your idea become a reality. Good luck.

Thanks for replying! off-topic question -- how do I subscribe to forum post? I think I have the settings correct in my account but I was not notified of new replies. I'm happy that you all think that this could be interesting. Once I finish my research paper I will upload it here so that you can get an idea of how I propose it would work! @Dave82, it is great that you are learning html and css. With the app builder it would be nice to know those languages but not really required (i hope) Thanks for the encouragement. It means a lot!

Hello, This idea is actually something I've been looking for for a while now. The thing i don't like much about Apple development is that to be able to use Xcode, Cocoa and be able to have a presence in the app store, I have to learn Objective C. Most books I've found on Objective C already assume you have the basic fundamentals of programming because of working with other languages. I understand the concepts but I have ideas and I just want a way to easily create them. I know there's an app builder where you can just drag and drop to create the interface and add methods without coding functions and things, which would be great if we could have that in an accessible format.

Hi. First off, kudos to you for wanting to make your things accessible from the get-go. I am a new Mac user and therefore don't have any experience with app development. In fact I don't have any programming knowledge at all in any of the languages, other than from a user's standpoint. But I have found Apple Vis to be a wonderful resource indeed. The only real programming knowledge which I possess--other than an end user's perspective--is that of creating and maintaining my SAMNet-powered website. SAMNet is the System Access Mobile Network, and it is primarily Windows-based but I'm told it also works in Google Chrome on the Mac. Back on the Windows side though, SAMNet is fully accessible. Again welcome and I look forward to trying out your stuff in the near future.

Welcome to this community. Your idea sounds fantastic, and I'll be willing to help you (answering surveys etc.) as much as I can. Unfortunately, I don't have any programming knowledge at all but would like to learn at least the basics of coding. So I'm looking forward to your upcoming posts. Best of luck and success for your project!

Hey guys!

I'm back a year later finishing up my thesis! I have created a survey if you all can take a moment to fill out if you don't mind. After finishing the survey you will see a link to my report that I wrote last year and which I'm working on for this final thesis due soon.
