Accessibility Comments

This game can be played with a little bit of patience. You can do everything even though some things are labeled in a strange way.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads most page elements.

Button Labeling

Most buttons are clearly labeled.

There are some accessibility issues with this app, but it can still be used if you are willing to tolerate these issues and learn how to work around them.

Other Comments

This is a game combined with a drinking reminder for water. A fun way to remember to drink. I haven't yet figured out how to actually water the plant without turning off VoiceOver but just do a long press on the bottom middle, maybe a little to the right and there you go.

If you give me more info on what you see I can help you. The nxt and previous plant buttons are hidden under where it says ex and the ex mean seeds. You should start with a free plant. Also when you have started you look at the bottom of the screen, flick left out of the ad if you have ads and there should be a number. First you will have to make a cup and that will be done from the begining. If you double tap and hold the number I just said you give it water. The first time it is no nyumber but will give you an instruction.

I have found most of these things partially accessible but I don’t get the hang of the shop. I had to have my staff download the plants and buy the pots. I bought a box of seeds and ten water of life. B e aware that your plant may die. Water of life is either used for when your plant has died or to make it grow faster. Also, in the garden, just double tap and hold and then swipe a little to the left or the right to cycle between your plants. I currently have two plants in the garden. One of them, thanks to my stupidity, is called Dandeliolola wich is a tongue twister. The other one is Alice. Of course the first one is a dandelion. The other one is a devil’s ivy. I am working on a plant named katja and Katja is a cactus. Also, to collect seeds, you need to have at least one plant in the garden. You may see a number below the plant but you don’t, then double tap the name of the plant or the specis, I am not sure, and it will either tell you how many seeds you can harvest or if you cannot harvest, tells you how long to wait for seeds. The tricky part in my opinion is that you cannot see how much the plant produces when you plant it, but I see this as a minor problem. It shows you how many seeds it will take to plant the plants. There are some free ones and I would recomend you to start with one of those because you probably don’t want to use up the seeds you have from the start. I don’t remember how many seeds you actually start with. Every plant has their own sounds. To hear that, just visit them in the garden, if it is planted, or turn off voiceover on the main screen and tap the screen near the bottom center. I have allways liked games that are useful and fun. This is a water reminder that you can play as a game. Hope this helps.

I am not quite sure how I managed to select weight but since I have staff to help me I believe I had her help me with it. I do not want to reinstall the game just so I can play aroun dwith that because I don’t want to loose all progress. I use this mainly for caring game and water reminder and it reminds several times per day. I have one of the smaller cups and I drink 9 cups of water each day. My weight is 91 and my activity is regular.

Will you be able to do a podcast on it in the future?

Submitted by Sasha Stride on Wednesday, October 25, 2017

I can try but I will have to record on my iPhone and then use my iPad for the actual game. I will firstly upload it to dropbox in case this will be rejected. But I will send it here too.

I am not going to say I did a good work with this recording but I at least hope it helps someone. If you can find more accessibility workarounds please do tell me. I am not going to submit this podcast but am just going to post a dropbox link here. I am sorry, I know this podcast sucks, but I at least tried.
Hope it actually helps someone.

I got the game working, eventually, but I cannot move anywhere or do anything for adverts. The shop won't let me purchase anything, or sometimes even exit it without closing and reopening the game. If I try and water my plant, the only one I've been able to get planted, I usually end up on some site or other I didn't want to visit. I have videos auto playing all over the place when I don't ask them to. Heaven help me, all I wanted was to be reminded to drink water regularly, and maybe have a little fun! This is about as much fun as rolling in a cactus patch! I've been messing with it all day on and off, but with the number of adverts everywhere I would say it's more unusable than usable.

Unfortunately you need sighted help with the shop. To cycle between the plants you can get you just tap the x buttons. I don’t know if they are next or prev but you could actually try double tapping and holding then swiping but I don’t believe it will work. Your best choice is to just press the x buttons.

The ads are annoying but there are few ones tha autoplay. You will have to swipe until you hear a number and then double tap and hold. I love this app and maybe it doesn’t work for you but it is useable because I am completely blind and can use it, even though I need my staff to do this.
