Anybody who has posted to this site over the past few days will have noticed that we are in the process of upgrading the feature that enables you to get email alerts of new content or replies.
On most pages of this site, logged in users will now see a more prominent option to get email alerts of any new replies to that page or to receive alerts for any new content or replies posted to that area of the site (for example, any new iOS App Directory entries).
You can also manage and fine tune your subscriptions via your account page at: www.applevis.com/user/me/subscriptions
By default, you will automatically receive alerts for any replies to your own posts or threads that you have participated in. If you prefer not to receive these, it can be disabled via the above page.
I still have a little fine-tuning to do, mostly of the way that the option is displayed on pages, but it does appear to be working quite well.
We hope that you will find this another useful way to keep up-to-date with what is happening on the site.

Still tweaking
I've made a few more changes to the way that the subscriptions work, one of which is to allow you to set the frequency interval for receiving email updates.
You can now choose to receive email alerts:
You can select your default frequency interval via your account page at: http://www.applevis.com/user/me/subscriptions
On that page you can also choose to receive your alerts in digest format.
