Hi, everyone,
I found this a couple of days back which I thought might be interesting for IOS and Mac brail users:
In short, it's the orbit brail reader with extra lines. I'm personally interested in the 20 cell 5 line version, will be great for stat blocks for my DnD games... Oh, an work, will be good for work too.
There's no indication of price yet though I did email them. They said the price is still being set as is the launch date.
I do wonder how this will work with VoiceOver as, as far as I know, it works only on a one line basis at the moment. I know there are developments for tactile graphics displays but I'm guessing there will also have to be a software update for the orbit apple side for full functionality.
The ideal, of course, is a graphic display that can also display braille however, and correct me if I'm wrong, that's still not possible for devices such as the dot pad or the orbit graffiti which have a different matrix of dots for brail, separate from the graphic display.
Anyway, I was interested, thought you might be too.

iOS 16
iOS 16 has the support for multi line displays. If you look in your braille settings you'll find 2 settings for multi line braille displays
Not on the beta yet but will…
Not on the beta yet but will have a look when I get it on a secondary device. Thanks for clearing that up.
That's pretty exciting... As far as such things go.
Interest piqued
If they can pull it off, this would be a game changer. I imagine it'll cost a couple grand, but I'm sure I could afford it... and by afford it I mean nag my rehab councilor and get them to buy it for me for math content... I'll leave out the D&D stat blocks bit when I do tell them though lol
