So, I think this might be proof that apple accessibility do indeed read this forum. I had a bit of a meltdown in a post yesterday saying how sending reports to apple accessibility felt like screaming into a void, or something similarly over melodramatic. Regarding the 'safari is not responding' horror we all experience to varying levels their response was as follows:
Hello Ollie,
Thank you for your email. We are always grateful for your feedback. We are aware of the challenges with VoiceOver not responding in Safari, and are investigating solutions for a future software update.
Sincerely,
Apple Accessibility
So, though safari may not be responding, at least apple accessibility are. Good to hear that they are working on the problem. Fingers cross that they're will indeed be a fix at some point.

good to no
good to no about that
How long has this bug been existed?
That's all very nice and I honestly don’t doubt that apple accessibility are doing all they can. Thing is the m1 chip has been out in the wild for … uh, Alexa, when was the m1 chip released November 2020 you say Alexa? That's an incredibly massive bug to exist for 16 od months with apple accessibility working hard on a fix. I’m sure they are. That kind of highlights the problem, apple accessibility used to be moderately prioritized in the dev cycle now they’re losing priority. This isn’t one of those persistent braille bugs that's been here for years but only impacts a relatively small number of users. Also sorry about the comment title I just woke up, am a bit hung over, and this sincere response from Apple Accessibility rminded me just how hung over I in fact am …
Good now keep emailing and calling them about it
Good now keep emailing them and calling them about this issue. Annoy them. Emailed them at least once a week about it. Call 1-877-204-3930 and have them create a case number. Make it so that they’ll fix it just to get rid of you. They don’t fix things unless they think it’s an important issue to fix.
An irregular grumble is all…
An irregular grumble is all I can commit to.
Yay!
A small victory.
Sent in a bug report
I sent my own report in just now. I really need Safari to be working, and I'm sure this would have been fixed quickly were it an issue for sighted users. I see posts about this dating back to December. Hopefully more people reporting it will get them to do something about it.
