Accessibility Comments

This app is not very accessible but it can be used if you keep track of the notifications. It is a little difficult but I like it.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

Few buttons are clearly labeled.

Some parts of the app are accessible with VoiceOver, but not enough to make it usable.

Other Comments

Like I said, I am able to use this app just fine. But the interface is very difficult. It is a great game. You have to pay. attention to the notifications and I wish I could explain how to play but there’s too much to say about this. To play, add the Pix widget to your today screen and then you will be able to play.

Hi, I've had this app for all of five minutes, and I can't figure it out. How do you even start playing? How do you hatch the pet? And how do you allow notifications?

Submitted by Sasha Stride on Thursday, June 28, 2018

To play, you use the widget. Swipe to the right with three fingers on lock screen or home screen. Add this app as a widget. I recomend pulling it to top.
You play this game in the widget, meaning that you won’t be in the app much. So you need the widget.

I could, but I don’t think it would be helpful.
I learned through trial and error, but will see if I can make a podcast and upload it to Dropbox.
I will have to play on my iPad when recording because I am NOT going to start the game over on my phone. The buttons are strangely labeled wich is something I at least can show you. The limpiare button in one of the rooms are the clean button and if you klick the fletcha buttons that is next and previous item or action. The foods aren’t labeled but that is okay because this isn’t needed. You should click the numbers instead of the unlabeled things like rec:rosa or whatever.
This is because you need to make sure not to buy things that are too expensiva wich is why I usually klick where it says five. I am sorry if this doesn’t help. I can maybe try to make a podcast, but I am not sure.

I think this will be an interesting app.

I've got my pix to 70 percent pet points. I can't clean the room, when I do; it makes a, well, not an error sound but it doesn't make the cleaning sound i heard in the podcast.

I managed to make it eat a lot of bread at least that's what I think it was.

I've opened the letter and turned on the notifications. If I put my pix to sleep and wait for an hour with the screen locked will I get a notification telling me that the pix want to eat or whatever it wants to do?

Submitted by Sasha Stride on Friday, June 29, 2018

You can only clean if it is messy.
Pay close attention to the notifications. It may say it has pooped So you cannot clean when it isn’t needed. I was confused by this too..

Submitted by Sasha Stride on Friday, June 29, 2018

Yes, you will. Not sure how it works at night but I usually puts it to bed in the night.

Submitted by riyu12345 (not verified) on Friday, June 29, 2018

If I leave it sleeping,, the next day will I get a notification that it wants to play? Or do I need to wake it up for that to happen?

I've tweeted the team, I don't know if they'll get back to me but it's worth trying ;)

They will notify you to turn on the lights. And it will notify you if it is tired.
Mine is an egg now because I got done with my first pet.

Submitted by MsHollyWeezy on Friday, June 29, 2018

Thanks for the recording. Dont remember seeing a option to open the letter though.

Submitted by Sasha Stride on Friday, June 29, 2018

Just doubleTap on where it says envelope. After that, there will be a prompt asking you about notifications. Press yes there and then the actual app will open and ask for notification permission and you should allow that.

Submitted by MsHollyWeezy on Friday, June 29, 2018

Got it thanks. Btw the epic game. I think its 1 of those random choosing games. I played around with it and double tapped on a few of those "back" buttons and won 10. U can tell when u win or lose.

Submitted by Sasha Stride on Friday, June 29, 2018

I got to try that. To play the walk game I either look where it says coin, wich is tricky, or do the easier way by just tunring off VoiceOver and tap around the widget.

Submitted by MsHollyWeezy on Friday, June 29, 2018

Ok. So. I looked everywhere and cant find the walk game. Where would that be? Gonna have to try it after my pix wakes back up. It got tired.

Submitted by Sasha Stride on Friday, June 29, 2018

I don’t know if you have to wait for something because I found it after hatching and I may have evolved so maybe that is the key.

Submitted by Sasha Stride on Friday, June 29, 2018

It is possible to rename the pets. Mine, for example, is called Link.
Just go to somewhere it says home default or whatever, click the my pix and then doubletap the place where it says lapice. There, you can see your pix’s type and age.

Submitted by MsHollyWeezy on Friday, June 29, 2018

In the app itself or are u talking about in the today screen? I cant find that at all. Maybe another waiting thing?

Submitted by Sasha Stride on Friday, June 29, 2018

Your pix is still baby so you cannot play that game. No, we barely do anything in the actual app. Later on you will always have Walk or Epica.
I wish my new pet would wake up though.
Did you manage to rename your pet?

Submitted by Sasha Stride on Friday, June 29, 2018

I found this button in one of the four rooms. It should be there. That is the same button where you find the info.
When my pix Link has woken up, I will look for details. It just says home default and then you flick left or right and locate the place.

Submitted by Sasha Stride on Friday, June 29, 2018

I see it in the kitchen right before the store 1 button. It may exist in other rooms too.

Submitted by Sasha Stride on Friday, June 29, 2018

Yay my dragon is complete and now I have a dog wich I have called Samantha.
I stilll find the home default button everywhere and when clicking that I just have to flick right until I get to where it says my pix. So double tap home default, then my pix, flick left and you will see your pix information.

My stupid phone won’t let me view the podcast which is a shame because I really wanted to play this game :-( can you please upload it as an apple vis podcast? Sorry :-(

Submitted by Sasha Stride on Friday, June 29, 2018

I cannot do that because I am very very sure it would be rejected anyway. The podcast was aweful.

Submitted by Iamriley on Friday, June 29, 2018

I will try to get help from a cited friend with viewing the podcast. I’m sure it wasn’t as bad as you think. I’ve seen your other podcasts and you seem really cool how old are you I’m 16

Submitted by Sasha Stride on Friday, June 29, 2018

I have a dog.
The pix book is not accessible unfortunately but since I don’t care about collecting but just want to care for them that is okay. I have finished one pix wich was a dragon I named Link. My dog’s name is Samantha, because I like that voiceover voice.

In your podcast it stopped making the sound when your pet wasn't hungry, except I fed mine probably ten times and it's still making the sound so idk if I'm doing something wrong. Also how do you know your pet's name and what kind it is?

Submitted by Sasha Stride on Saturday, June 30, 2018

To check what type your pet is, just go to where it says home default, click it and then choose my pix and there it will be. Mine is a dog.

Submitted by Sasha Stride on Tuesday, July 10, 2018

If you go to your pix and then try to feed it it won’t sound because it doesn’t want to eat it. If you tap again it will be eaten anyway.

Hello, can someone please explain to me how to play this game from the beginning to the end. I just downloaded the game but I can’t even turn on the notifications. thanks☺️

Submitted by Sasha Stride on Thursday, July 19, 2018

I made a podcast.
Unfortunatekly, this game takes a whole lot getting used to.
I have a podcast in one of the posts in this thread.
Most buttons are strangely labeled and I have learned by trial and error and this is very hard work.
I know the podcast was aweful, but I did my best with it.
I messed up a lot so I didn¨t even bother to upload it for inclusion.
First, you have to add the app to your widget. Remember, you won¨t be in the app alot.
To do this you swipe right from your lock screen and then you see where it says edit. Just add the widget and then move it to the top.
You will find a place where it says envelope and just double tap that and it will ask if you want to know when your pet evolves and then just press yes. The app will open and then it will ask for permision.
When this is done, go back to your widget. The app sometimes says an error message but just double tap that and the widget will work.
When you have added it, you will get a place where it says tap to hatch. When you have done that you have to look for the envelope I was talking about.
The ”room arrow left/right” are to move between the four rooms; bedroom, dining room, playroom and bathroom. The fletcha or whatever will move you between options anywhere.
To clean you go where it says something like limpiarre and you will get a sound if it neads to be cleaned and it will not sound if you don¨t need it.
If you press one of the fletcha buttons you will see heal. This is because your pet can become sick if you neglect them. You can either buy medicine with your coins or get free by watching an ad.
The dining room: There will be two store buttons. The apple store one will lead you to food and the other one will lead you to some other store. The food in the shop is not labeled. This means that you don¨t have control of what your pets eat. If there are three types of food in the store you will see three buttons called things like rec button rosa, wich I think is spanish. I wouldn¨t tap those though because you don’t know how much it costs. So browse left or right until you find numbers like 5 25 or 100 and so on. Double tap what you would like to pay for.
Then we come to the playroom. This is where you can play games. There are two games and they are walk and epic. Walk is partially accessible because you just need to flick to the coins and avoid tapping on the bad ones. Epic is apparently a memory game or something.
I really hope this helps you. If you have problems, just ask.
Also, the notifications are vitar to be able to know what your pet needs.
If you try to feed the pet once and it doesn’t eat, it is just not hungry.

Hello, thanks for responding to my question but I didn’t have enough patience for the game so I just deleted it. I can work with iPhone games if they are not very accessible I can usually use them but that game just drove me crazy! Do you know of other virtual pet Do you know of any other virtual pets or baby caring games? If I’m not mistaken I think I have actually heard your podcast before I think you have a lot of the games I actually enjoy I have the my baby sim games, The baby adopter games, Mobile aquarium, hatchi And plant nanny. If you could think of any other suggestions that would be great. ☺️

Submitted by Queenofeagles07 on Friday, July 20, 2018

Limpiar means to clean, and rosa means pink in Spanish (as I remember from the course)
I didn't download the game because it's very confusing, but I'll suggest 2 accessible pet caring games which you can play at Google, safari etc
Furry Paws and Lucky Lapin

Submitted by Sasha Stride on Saturday, July 21, 2018

Glad you like Plant Nanny. I believe I was the one introducing it, am I right?
I don’t know of gany other games like that

Submitted by Sasha Stride on Monday, November 26, 2018

I do but I think it is too easy. I rather go with Hatchi.

Submitted by Exodia on Thursday, November 5, 2020

unfortunately, I have noticed that the app is no longer available. I just tried to grab it.
