Otterbox cases

Hi all,

I'm not planning to throw my iPhone around too much, but I wouldn't be surprised if it gets an occasional bump or knock (most likely several!). So, I am thinking I should get a case thqt offers a fair amount of protection.

I am currently thinking about either an Otterbox Defender or an Otterbox Commuter. Has anybody got one of these cases? Are they as good as people claim? Do they still fit easily into a pocket, or do these cases make them too bulky?

Thanks

Ian

Otterbox Commuter

I came close to buying an Otterbox Commuter, but noticed just in time that it has a protective cover for the dock port. This would have meant that I would need to remive the phone from the case every time that I want to use it in my speaker dock.

So, my own search for a sturdy case continues. I'm now looking at the Seidio range, specifically the Innocase II Surface, and possible pairing that with the Rugged add-on case and holster.

Hi, I have the OtterBox Definder for my IPhone 4. It is just awesome. It is even more better than the Defender for the IPhone 3GS. It is quite protective!!!!

Has anyone located an Otterbox Case for the Ipod Touch 4g? I have only found cases for the 2G and 3G Touch. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hi Ian; I have the Commuter case and I am very happy with the form factor. It fits in my shirt pocket and, if I put it in my pants pocket, it fits very comfortably. Hope this helps. Anthony

I have an iPhone case. I would like to know if your iPhone gets wet by body sweat, or precipitation, will the iPhone be okay as long as you have a case protecting it? Thanks.

Does the otterbox defender case have a cover that covers the usb port? If not that's great, if so I don't want to buy a separate piece of equipment just to plug in to my computer.

What's the difference between otterbox defender and Otterbox com

By Maya

Hi folks, could you please tell me what is the difference between Otterbox defender and Otterbox comuter? I am planning to get Otterbox defender, but need more information. So does Otterbox defender enclose the whole device or just the back part or just the front part? Is the front part covered with the case or just with the foil put on the screen? Does the case have openings for all buttons - home button, volume button, power button, button for switching between silent and normal mode and for usb and headset?Of what material the casee is made? Thank you for your replies.

OtterBox Defender Case Information

The OtterBox Defender Case comes in three components. There are two cases and the hard plastic clip. The first case is smooth hard plastic and nearly covers everything accept the USB port, the ear bud jack, and all the buttons. The second case is made of soft rubber and surrounds the first case accept the front where the touch screen is. The soft rubber case fits over the home button, sleep button, and the volume controls acting as a nice cushion. You can access the ear bud jack and USB port by peeling back the rubber tabs so that you can insert your plugs. Then you can press the tabs back in place and you can hardly notice it’s there. The third component is the clip for the case which is nothing out of the ordinary. You just slip your IPhone onto the clip and attach it where you want. In short, I love the OtterBox Defender Case! It is the sturdiest case for the IPhone; I would recommend it to anyone!
