Description of App
Caffeine is a tiny program that puts an icon in the right side of your menu bar. Click it to prevent your Mac from automatically going to sleep, dimming the screen or starting screen savers. Click it again to go back. Right-click (or ⌘-click) the icon to show the menu. Important: Caffeine lives in the MENU BAR, and this is where its state is indicated. App Store puts the Caffeine icon in the dock, but you can just remove it if you want to.

This app works as advertised near as I can tell, but you don't get any indication whether the coffee cup is full or not. So you have to remember if you pressed the button. I've contacted the developer about this issue, but haven't heard back yet. the app was last updated in 2010. All the preferences screens and menulet options work, however.
There are some accessibility issues with this app, but it can still be used if you are willing to tolerate these issues and learn how to work around them.
I find this most useful when listening to music, audio described movies, or a processor-intensive task.

Hi; just got caffein but can't work out how to get it to work. Maybe because it gives no feedback, but I can't get my Mac to stop going to sleep. Voiceover tells me its in the extras menu but how do I toggle it on and off? Do you just use the standard VO keys with space or double tap the menu item? How do you click it? Also how do I quit or close it after I'm done? Hope I haven't missed something too obvious. Thanks for the help.
