For one thing, this app isn't even being actively developed anymore, I don't think. Second of all, the app used to be quite accessible, but the last I tried it about 2 or 3 months ago, you couldn't even get through the initial setup. You'd click the add account button, but nothing at all would happen. Routing the mouse then doing vo+shift+space did no good, control literal clicking did no good, vo+shift+M did no good, and neither did literal clicking nor double clicking. My guess is, if you could have a sighted person get you through that initial part, it key word... might! be accessible at that point, but no guaranties. Personally, I'd much rather suggest using Adium from: http://www.adiumx.com It's way more customizable, way more accessible, and frankly, I think you'll like it way better. It's a little tedious to set up and configure, just because it's so customizable, but once set, you'll never want another instant message client, trust me. Fire's just really not worth it in my opinion.
Some parts of the app are accessible with VoiceOver, but not enough to make it usable.
