AppShopper is back! The same old AppShopper that you had loved in the first place. No doubt one of my top favorite in keeping up to date on all of my apps. They have returned with a new twist to the app. It is now capable of sharing your apps that you won with your friends. This is something I am really looking forward to. For most of you know that I am a huge app fan and you can now follow me in what apps that I have. I believe I even saw an area where you can rate your app so that others will know what you think of the app itself. Plus, you must use the desktop portion of the AppShopper to make this more robust and used to the fullest potential. The AppShopper program on the Microsoft platform is very accessible. It simply scans what app you have on your iTunes and automatically up;oad that information to the database. This prevents from you having to enter every app that you have. Sadly, the older Appshopper was a lot more accessible than the newer Appshopper Social. I hope they will make some changes so this will be as accessible as it once was.

I have AppShopper Social loaded on my iPhone 5 and versions of the original AppShopper app that was pulled from the App Store on my old iPhone 4. The new AppShopper Social that was released is not as accessible as the original AppShopper app if you try to read through the detailed results of a search. The listing with price and time of last price or update activity is fine. However, if I've double tapped to select an app from the list to read through the detailed information, I get a lot of announcements of unlabeled buttons when I try to read the Developer Descriptiom, instead of just letting me read the description. The main problem is that I no longer can get VoiceOver to read the content of the description and "What's New", even though that information is on the screen. For example, let's say I searched for the Audible app and double tapped on the list results to read detailed information. In the old AppShopper App I can flick right to "Description", and then flick right again to listen the description of the app, or I can continue to flick right to "Read more, then "What's New", then flick right again to read the descriptiom of "What's New", then flick right to hear the version and size, then flick to "Tell a Friend", and then to "App Activity". In the new AppShopper Social app, I flick right to "Developer Description", then the next flick gives me "button", then "What's New", then the version information as before, and the App Activity. I don't actually hear the content of the "Developer Description" or "What's New" announced, as I previously did, if I just flicked right past these announced entries. The information is on the screen, because if I take a screen capture, and then send the results to an OCR app like TextGrabber, I get the same information that the old AppShopper app just reads out to me. The unlabeled "button" is the "Read More". If I double tap that unlabeled "button", then flicking right only gives me only a set of unlabeled buttons, which are apparently the links to various different Audible country web sites. Again, I can do a screen capture and OCR the results from my camera roll with TextGrabber, to check that this is the same description that I hear read in the old AppShopper app -- only with the description not truncated by "Read More" if I have double tapped the unlabeled button. My recommendation is that anyone who still has the old AppShopper App should hold onto it and continue to use it. The new AppShopper Social app is Ok for getting lists of the current pricing information of apps that you search for, and double tapping "App Activity" works as before to learn about pricing and version history, but VoiceOver can't read the details of the app description and what's new. Maybe somebody else can comment with their experiences.

Sadly some of the issues that I've had with the accessibility still exist. The Ratings, Description, and What's New are still can't be access via Voice Over. However, the app is still very easy to use. Now include the options to view in what your friends have added to their collection. Now that I really love. Be forwarned if you look at my list. :P

What's New in Version 1.1
