Description of App

Music Memos is the easiest way for songwriters to capture and organize new musical ideas. Use your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to record acoustic guitar, piano, voice, or any musical instrument as high-quality, uncompressed audio. Then name, tag and rate your ideas to start building a library of all your favorite new song parts and riffs. Music Memos automatically detects your tempo, rhythmic feel and chords and lets you instantly hear your musical idea accompanied by a rhythm section with realistic drums and bass. View the chords you’ve played, add comments and lyrics, or share your recordings with friends or directly to Apple Music Connect*. And it’s easy to take your favorite ideas into GarageBand to add more instruments and continue building your song.

Accessibility Comments

There are a few accessibility issues, which include the following: Be aware that whilst on the main screen, the volume is turned nearly all the way down, which is probably to prevent system sounds from triggering the auto record mode. So it may seem that VoiceOver has crashed. If VoiceOver does speak during recording, it will be picked up via the mic, so you might consider using this app with headphones. Button labeling on the details screen needs improving. It is currently not possible to trim recordings using VO. The same applies to Specifying the first downbeat, correcting chords and changing the time signature. If you double tap and hold on the drum button, a screen appears that gives you basic control over the generated drum track. However, some of the buttons are not clearly labeled, and you are unable to drag the puck around to change the loudness/complexity of the groove. Double tapping and holding on the bass button calls up a similar screen, with the same accessibility issues. you can use the 3 finger left/right gestures to move between measures. However, VoiceOver speaks random page numbers.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads most page elements.

Button Labeling

Most buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

There are some accessibility issues with this app, but it can still be used if you are willing to tolerate these issues and learn how to work around them.

Not at present there isn't, no. I have also found a few other accessibility bugs so I'll update the entry.

The button tagged as "tune" or "tuner" (Excuse me, my iphone language is set to spanish and I'm not sure how is it tagged in english) on the main screen doens't do anything when pressed, at least from a voice over perspective.

If you press the tuner button it actually pops up an element on the screen that shows you the currently playing note. However, if I understand the descriptions that most websites give, it's also displays some sort of lines that, the closer to the centre they are the more in-tune your playing is, both when using the tuner and also on the main measure display. This is another thing not currently read by VO.
