Description of App:
From the App Store:
Nutrients Canada brings the Canadian Nutrient File to the iPhone and iPod Touch.
The application includes the full contents of the database (2007b) prepared by Health Canada.
Health Canada description of the CNF:"The Canadian Nutrient File is a comprehensive, computerized bilingual database that reports up to 143 nutrients in over 5500 foods. The database can help you find values for nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, protein, energy, fat and many more, and is updated periodically."
Nutrients Canada displays the contents of the database in a convenient hierarchical fashion and provides a search feature. Clicking on a specific food item will bring up a details page enabling you to obtain actual nutrient contents for common servings or packaging. The actual nutritional information is displayed in a familiar format that mimics the Canadian nutritional value label regulations.
