Multi Path Audio : Books
Description of App
Multi Path Audio Books are multiple choice 'books on tape' with many different paths to pick, endings, titles to earn, and ways to win or lose! At it’s core it is an entertaining text based audiobook player for adults and kids. A hands free game for those long road trips, flights, or sleepless nights.
Created by David Levy of Hobjoblin, MPA allows you to choose your own interactive fiction audio adventure. The fun part is that you can play each audio book again and again. Only, which way will choose to go next time? The stories are written by several different authors and narrators, with genres including Vampires, Pirates, Fantasy, Children's, and Sci Fi. More books are constantly in production, so expect your library to grow!
All stories are free to download and play through a couple times, so this gives you lots of free entertainment for zero moneys!
Start by downloading our first text based adventure titled The Purple Island Glow-Grubs written by Dave Strand and Kelly Levy with narration by Peter Hicks. It contains over 2.5 hours of audio, with 9 ways to win and 21 ways to lose! Each story line takes roughly 15-25 minutes, perfect for the drive to work.

I first heard about this application on the Blind Bargains Podcast. The app works very well with voiceOver.
I love using Multi Path Audio, partly because it makes great use of the player's imagination. On top of that, it's a great time waster. I find it very engaging to use, especially if I'm having trouble sleeping, on a long car or plane ride, or if I don't feel like doing anything for the day. This puts a whole new twist on the audiobook in general.
I totally recommend this app for anyone who loves audiobooks and loves to use their imagination.

I've downloaded this app, but haven't started a story yet. The thing that bothers me, though, is that it never showed me the cost of in-app purchases. I think I bought one story; not even entirely clear on that, but I am concerned that I never saw the cost. I'm really hoping it was $5 or less.
When you download a story for the first time, you get to try it out a couple times for free. After that, you can purchase it for $1.99 if you like it.
That's a really good price considering what it takes to produce an audio book. This sounds cool.
I just started playing, but the recordings play through; where do I get it to pause so I can make choices?
Check to see if you have the Auto Story feature enabled. It's found in settings while you're playing. If it is enabled, you can shut it off in order for you to manually make your selection when necessary. I hope that helps.
