This app works poorly with VoiceOver. Some high level account details can be read but far too often, such as when viewing transactions, text is not read. Feedback from app support indicates they know the app works poorly with VoiceOver.

In the newest version here are the things I am seeing that I feel could be improved.
There is a button at the top of every screen most of the time, it is labeled "plusBarButton. That button it seems to be an add button so the label should be "Add"
There seems to be something that voiceover reads called "clipicon" double tapping on it opens the transaction after it when swiping right, on the updates tab, I don't know if that should be read by voiceover or not.
When reading transactions, voiceover speaks topLeftLabel, bottomLeftLabel, bottomRightLabel and topRightLabel. all of the information is split up for each transaction in to labels, I don't know if this is a good idea or not but I don't think it should be doing this. I could be wrong though.
It seems very accessible I just think it could be shored up even more. Hope I helped.

Thank you for your feedback. The latest version of mint, 4.1.0, which was released on March 2, 2015 fixes the Add button label. They've also worked on the accessibility of the sign up, log in, transaction detail page, and fixed the split transaction work flow.

I can add accounts, add transactions, and see how much I've earned or spent.
I can also set budgets and goals but goals have to be set on the Mint website.
it's accessible for a simple financial tracker.
It can also work with Os x.

I have just started using Mint 4.8.3 on both my phone and iPad. It is extremely laborious, but it is the only accessible app for personal finance I have been able to find. A lot of things are accessible, but there are a number of unlabeled buttons, such as the "clip icons" that appear before every transaction. No idea what that is. Also, having 5 individual elements to scroll through for each individual transaction makes moving through a long list of transactions a ridiculous process. Sometimes VO focus jumps to the very end of the list, particularly in the "All Transactions" screen. Additionally, when you go to create a new budget, the button you have to activate to change the amount of the budget is labelled "SliderAndChartView." That one took a while to figure out. And double tapping the pie chart takes you to a screen that makes VO become useless, even though the flicking up and down on the pie chart itself is a cool feature. I have not been able to figure out how to look at details about previous months' budgets on the app, so I had to resort to the website, where I could only figure out how to do it with sighted assistance. I can now do it on my own, but that is only because I can see well enough with the assistance of inverted colors to click on buttons for previous months that are not accessible with VO or JAWS.

I have been able to do a lot with Mint, and it is incredibly convenient when it comes to auto-tracking what I and my wife are spending on all our various accounts, sorting them into budget line items, etc. Basically, Mint is an amazing app if you can see. If you are relying on VO, it is a clearly retrofitted accessibility experience that allows for you to access most of the core functions with a lot of work. I think it's worth it because it's a free service and keeping track of your money in an accessible, independent way is crucial. But you need some serious time to invest. I know the Intuit people are pretty dedicated to accessibility, and their products are, I think, hugely important when it comes to independence for people in our community. It's just tough going right now with Mint.

I don't know when this problem started exactly, but I'm using version 4.11.1 now. When you go to the "all transactions" page, you can no longer simply flick right through the transactions. If you do that, VO will just repeat the same information for whatever transaction you have highlighted over and over again. This means, to scroll through transactions, you must find each transaction using touch navigation, which is quite hard because the lines with each new transaction are very small. I may be on the hunt for a new money manager app quite soon.

Each transaction in the "all transactions" page is now an individual element, but still has all the relevant information about the transaction, which is unbelievably helpful. You can flick right through them as well. Still lots of problems with this app, but things just got a lot easier. The problem with the five elements where you can't flick right persists though in other parts of the app, like if you are reviewing all the transactions within an individual budget category for the current month.

Your comment led me to look specifically for areas where swiping right is not working. I haven't found anything missing from the swipe flow, but there's always room for improving the content being announced. I'll share this with the team and see if we can make it even better for you.
