Accessibility Comments

I have definitely contacted the developer regarding this. For one thing, some of the sounds they are using are not in public domain, and are copywritten. When I asked very politely if they had the royalty permissions to use the tones, they told me no, and to go away and stop bugging them about it, as if I'd done so in the first place by only contacting them one time and no more. When I told them I was blind, and used Voiceover, and that some of the buttons were not correctly labeled, they told me, then go label them yourself with the graphic labeler in Voiceover and quit jumping on our case. When I told them I'd be posting this review on Applevis, they dared me to do so, so...? Here I am! Take that! you devs? I was *going!* to help them with making things more accessible, but now, due to their cocky attitude, they've blown it, and lost my business forever more! It's also worth noting that the app doesn't do what it says it will by saving the m4R files. Once you try to sync with ITunes as the app tells you to do, the tones do not show up either on my IOS device, nor do they show up in ITunes. Yes. I do have my device set to sync tones, and yes, the radio botton to sync all tones is selected. I'm an extremely advanced Voiceover user, and I train students both on the use of IOS as well as OSX both from a blind as well as a sighted perspective, so I'd better know about checking those options. LOL! I know nothing's broken with tones in general, as I've created my own, and bought several over the last few months from the ITunes Store, and in both cases, they synced down flawlessly. It's definitely! the app. NO question. This is very very disappointing, as I not only was really looking forward to a great holiday app, but also for working one-on-one with the developer to better improve accessibility, but it's blaintantly obvious that accessibility isn't their concern, nor do they have a desire for it later to become such. Frankly, I am not at all impressed!

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads a few page elements.

Button Labeling

Few buttons are clearly labeled.

Some parts of the app are accessible with VoiceOver, but not enough to make it usable.

Other Comments

As I said earlier. Believe you me! I've contacted the devs, and I let them know with very choice words that I wasn't satisfied with their attitude, nor would it be tolerated. I made it plainly clear that I'd be reviewing this app on Applevis, and nothing they could do, short of apologizing and working to make an effort to make it more usable would stop me from doing so.
