Description of App

The Touch Hawaiian Pocket Dictionary, abridged and cyclopedic, has over 4,700 entries representing a database 15 years in the making, suitably presented in iOS.

Fully tested in IOS 5

Features live offline searching. Not only instantly look up anything whether searching in English or Hawaiian, but also reference all entries on categories such as plant, fish, endangered, etc.

TAP THE STATUS BAR ONCE TO QUICKLY SCROLL UP TO SEARCH AGAIN.

ADDENDUM: Please take some time to learn the App. For instance:

To find "today" in Hawaiian search for "Keia lā" or "Today."

Search for "Tomorrow" to quickly find ‘apōpō (an Hawaiian word for tomorrow).

Enable search with the macron and the glottal stop from the keyboard. Press and hold a vowel or apostrophe for additional options to appear.

Accessibility Comments

Be aware that voiceOver will not pronounce the Hawaiian words correctly: switch to character mode and flick through to read the correct spelling/pronunciation.

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver and is easy to navigate and use.

Other Comments

I actually found the interface a little jumpy, but it got the job done.
