White and black and battery life

Hello. Is it true that if you turn the setting for White and Black off in Accessibility, it will increase battery life? Thanks.

Interesting question.-I toggle black and white on and off, constantly, to help see the screen, but I do not know the answer. Hopefully, someone will know.
I use white on black themes on my w7 desktop, and always thought it saved energy becasue the LCD screen emits less light. I'm not sure if this would apply to the iPhone or not. .
