This app offers full support for VoiceOver.
All buttons are clearly labelled, and the developer has made sure to add extra information to these buttons (wherever appropriate) for VoiceOver users.
The main screen of the app contains a number of graphical elements. All of these are read by VoiceOver, and give a clear description of what they are and their current status. These leements include:
- Alarm audio indicator
- Alarm status indicators for the 3 available alarms (VoiceOver will tell you whether they are on or off)
- Battery indicator
- Configuration buttons for each of the 3 alarms
- Sleep button (when enabled, 2 additional elements are displayed on the screen - the first shows the percentage of sleep time remaining, the second is a button to stop the background audio)
- Info button
- A slider to adjust the brightness of the display. This works with the swipe gesture.
- A settings button
Although there were no obvious accessibility issues with this app, there were a couple of times when it became unresponsive when I was navigating the main screen. Once it actually locked the device.
I also had some problems when trying to use the iPod app to play music in the background. There were a few times when the music got paused when I was using the app switcher to switch back to Better Clock.
Despite these issues, I would still recommend this app to anybody who is looking for an accessible clock that offers multiple alarms and a sleep timer that supports background audio.
