Accessibility Comments

Not a single part of this app is inaccessible. Everything works 100%. It is so ridiculously easy to use, a baby could do it! Absolutely flawless! The developers really! should be profusely commended for their hard work! This app is free, but if it weren't I definitely! would buy it! It is so! worth it!

All buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver and is easy to navigate and use.

Other Comments

What can I say: this app is just breath-takingly amazing! Basically, in a nutshell, it allows you to check for available cab companies near you, plus get discriptions on their services. You then can book a ride, and even can choose your method of payment. No more need to give the cabby cash not knowing that you're giving him/her the correct bill denominations. No more worrying if they will get your credit card/debit card number while helping you swipe your card, and then run things up frodgelantly. You have full control by paying electronically straight through the app from the back seat of the cab. Be aware not all cabbies may know about this app, so if they seem hesitant, you might have to educate them on the app. If they still don't trust you, call the cab dispatch, and ask for a supervisor/manager, while still in their vehicle. This app also will give you push notifications to alert you what cab number is on its way, and how far away they are, plus will even let you know once they're pulling up to your location. By far this is one of my all time favorite apps, and I genuinely hope you'll find it to be the same! Thanks, and god bless!

Just try it, what more can I say... you will not regret! Trust me!

#2 Response to question about what Taxi Magic does

Submitted by broadwaydon on 19 August, 2011 - 22:50.

As the description says, it allows you to book and track local taxis from your IPhone (or, perhaps, another Apple device.) You can book your trip online and also find out where the taxi is and how soon it may arrive. Unfortunately, my cab company isn't yet listed, but I plan to ask them about it because this looks very useful indeed.

#3 Excuse me, but...

Submitted by Chris Gilland on 20 August, 2011 - 19:42.

I do not want to start a war-flame here, but, to the initial commenter: um... excuse me, but, for your lovely information, *I *did* *put* *a* *discription* *in* the* discription* *field*, and oh, by the way: all your stars to bring emphesis is immature in this context. Very rude. I don't know, seeing if I am the initial poster if I can edit comments, I don't think I can, but believe me, if I could, those stars would be getting deleted. Make your point. No need for extra emphesis. I get the idea. No need to rub it in, "Mr. Perfect."

#4 If I don't have an iPhone, is this app worthwhile?

Submitted by Ben Bloomgren on 21 August, 2011 - 20:37.

I would have to break several contracts to get one, so getting an iPhone is out of the question right now. I heard Chris's podcast demo, and the app looks fantastic! However, I don't have 3G. I've an ipod touch 64. Is it worth it to get this app? I want to test it out for myself, but what is missing sans 3G.

#5 Taxi magic questions.

Submitted by Sarah on 1 February, 2012 - 01:48.

So, I have downloaded this app. Where it says near Omaha, it says no magic booking fleet available. what does this mean? Can I not book cabs in my area? It does show cornhusker and yellowCab in my area and when I click book, it asks me if I want to call the taxi provider. But, I was assuming it's because I don't have all my info put in under settings where it asks for email and addresses and stuff. Am I correct in this? This app seems amazing and I can tell that it is 100% accessible! Also, randomly off subject, but this would be nice concept for paratransit vans or medical transportation and such so you know when they're ariving! If anyone has answers to these questions, I appreciate it!

#6 RE: Taxi Magic questions

Submitted by Matt Carrington on 1 February, 2012 - 11:17.

Hi Sarah, I'm in charge of customer experience at Taxi Magic. Our mobile booking technology works by integrating with the existing dispatch technology operated by taxi fleets. For fleets where we are not currently integrated (like fleets in Omaha), we offer tap-to-call capability that serves as phone listings for local fleets that serve your physical location. We are a young startup and we're continuing to grow our Magic Booking network across the US and Omaha is definitely on our target list to work directly with local fleets and allow you to book directly from your smartphone (without having to make a phone call).

I don't know when we'll be available, but hopefully this year. Keep checking back in the app or sign up for our newsletter at taximagic.com and we can alert you when we enter Omaha. Thanks!

Oh wow! Thanks! Yep, Happy Cab just upgraded there computers here so I'm hoping maybe it will work with taxi magic soon. Thanks for the responses. I forgot I left a comment and didn't check back, but that's nice to know you are working with getting Omaha on magic booking. Seems like an awesome concept! :)

Also, Omaha only shows one cab company in the tap to call, and I know there's others like the one I am about to use.

#10 3.0 update has issues with vo

Submitted by William on 26 July, 2012 - 14:02.

I follow the @taximagic feed on twitter and was advised not to update to 3.0 if you depend on voice over. They stated that there will be a new version in two or three weeks which will have the accessibility issues fixed.
I haven't upgraded so I do not know what the issues are.

Appears that one of the new feature in this update is that they have fixed the accessibility for this app! That is wonderful news. I've also read from a tweet that somebody has mentioned it is now usable.

I can confirm that this release is both accessible and usable. It is a great experience, possibly better than the one before. Great work Taxi magic!
