Where's my rubber ducky
Description of App
Zombies from out of space invaded earth. Took all the women, good food and Jack's rubber ducky. Jack sets out on a zombie killing rampage to get back his rubber ducky so he can take a bath. Armed with a shotgun, machete and surrounded by zombies, Jack is certain to introduce those rubber-ducky-stealing alien zombies to a world of pain!
There's only one problem: Jack is blind. Use your hearing to locate the zombies before they attack. Pull the trigger or machete the hell out of 'm to retake Jack’s rubber ducky.
This app is compatible with iPhone 3GS+ and iPad (WIFI + Cellular), but does not work on the iPod and iPad (WIFI only). Because GPS and compass are both required.
3D AUDIO ENGINE GIVES NEW MEANING TO FPS!
Jack is blind. There are no visuals on the screen that are relevant to survival. Learn where the buttons are, close your eyes and trust your ears. The 3d Audio Augmented Reality Engine uses intelligent algorithms to reproduce how our ears hear percieve the world around us. This game literally demands a killer hearing…
THIS IS JACK!
Jack is a bad tempored alcoholic who doesn't care for anything but his rubber ducky. All Jack does is sit at home, jobless, looking at action movies or p*&#. If someone he doesn't know walks on his land, the shotgun and machete do the talking…
If you ever reach the endlevel, let us know on facebook or twitter. You might even win something like a rubber ducky.

VoiceOver works, but shooting works fastest with VoiceOver off.. The sound makes it possible to hear where the zombies are coming from so you can turn towards them, aim and shoot. The score and the lives left is not read by VoiceOver, but a voice indicates what level you are. For the shooting, there are no problems

The app only works on iphone 3gs and newer and on ipad cellular version. That is because it needs GPS and compass.

#1 Interesting experience
I tried this app when I finished reading this post, and found the experience interesting and cool. The developers did well with configuring the real-time positions, because I was able to turn in the direction of the zombies without difficulties. Thanks for the review.
#2 wonderful game
well, I'm looking forward this kinds of shooting game for long time. I have play this game for minutes and think it was great!. the describtion is very clear.
#3 how many levels
hi all,
anyone know that how many levels does it have?
I just finished level 11 and died in levle 12.
#4 More than twelve
Actually, I've played through level seventeen, but it seems to end there. I just shoot continually beyond that point, so I'm wondering if the game is over when you reach such a stage. I did a Google search, and they plan to expand the game in the future. I don't know if it stops at level seventeen or if it keeps going. I shot for some time without progression to the next level, though. Perhaps they start tracking the number of zombies you've killed, because they mentioned a track record on some website. Has anyone reached beyond level seventeen yet?
#5 looking forward the new update
I'm lookingforward the coming update
and hope it can have a story line or story mode.
#6 Rubber Ducky game
How in the world are you guys getting al the way up to level 17! I keep dieing at level 3... This game is so fun and i can't wait to see what they add next!
#7 not really impressed
I also tried this game. Positives sound effects and music are pretty good but really repetative. Love the zombie shooting idea and the music that plays between levels is cool, i'm a sucker for heavy rock guitars. Negatives however...I also got stuck on Level 17. I kept shooting but the zombies never died. It's almost as if they didn't finish the game before releasing it, or had no idea what to do with it. You never reach a level to where the main character has to fight for his rubber ducky or anything. in other words there's no boss level to put it in game terms. Interesting idea but I removed it about 10 minutes of playing it. With a bit more work this game could be a lot better. Just hasn't hit prime time yet but nice job so far.
#8 Looks like I'm not the only one
Thanks for the confirmation. Yeah, the features are great on there, and I hope that other games use them as time progresses.
#9 Good gameplay but needs a lot more
I was very impressed with the gameplay. It was seamless and I didn't have any problems with the controls. That being said, this game lacks a lot. With the following additions, this game could be great.
1. More weapons: The knife and gun are exactly the same except they make different sounds. It takes one hit from each to kill a zombie and the knife seems to reach them no matter how close they are. Weapons that work differently in terms of range and strength would add a bit of variety to the game.
2. More types of enemies: The zombies all seem the same and die from one hit which makes the game a little predictable and repetitive.
3. More challenging gameplay: I made it to level 17 on my first try. This game is way too easy. The zombies should move around a little. It's a little too easy when they just come at you from the same direction. A bit of zig zagging left and right would be a bit more of a challenge. Also how about more zombies attack at the same time? Or at least have them respawn more often.
4. A story mode with an ending: Someone said it before and I agree. This game is way too repetitive. A story mode with missions, a plot, dialog and an ending would make it less so.
#10 More levels
Hi, I heard someone say that they have reached level 21 and then died. The makers want to add more different zombie monsters and also more types of weapons in the next level.
#11 RE: Rubber Ducky Game
This is for the person having trouble getting started on this game. I couldn't figure it out last night sitting down either. So today I decided to stand up and move around, and it worked much better. You can turn the phone (or you) until you hear the monster in the center. If the 3D audio seems muffled, there is a good chance he is somewhere behind you in the three to nine o'clock range and you will have to physically turn to get a good solution. The accuracy can be picked up quickly, but I find I have more luck with the machete. Maybe that's because the phone vibrates every time you hit instead of trying to simulate recoil with the gun? That's just me. Different-sounding monsters, a story, and various weapons would help, but to me this game is a great time-waster, and I like the physical movement involved. I've never really played one of this genre, so give it a try. Oh, and get used to creepy music, :) A dead-simple UI doesn't hurt, either.
#12 It could do with some
It could do with some polishing but this is one of the best games I've tried on the iphone. I've just tried this whilst sitting in a swivel chair and gotten to level 17 as well but as a previous poster mentioned, you end up getting stuck on that level. I like the 3D shooting idea of this game and would like to see different types of games based around this engine like shooting at enemy soldiers etc. It does get repetative but it is fun.
I have to say I did get confused when a zombie was directly behind me. I ended up shooting and then figuring out he was behind me and then having to swivelle 180 degrees then shoot.
#13 More actions
Would the iPhone sensors be able to sense if you jump?
I think it might be cool to have the zombies throw stuff to jump over or maybe you would need to jump over the zombies
I think the shake sensor might work for this more actions
#14 I think you should be a will
I think you should be able to walk around, and get things from stores and other places, there should be safe zones or something like that so that you can keep away from the zombies.
#15 I applaud this developer!
I would applaud this developer for creating a great game playing environment and then giving it away for free. The features and extra levels mentioned by my fellow commenters could always be added to a future, possibly paid, version of this game. The first thing I noticed about this game, something I wish more audio game developers would do, is immediately identify left and right speakers when you enter the game. When using ear buds, this can be really useful. Secondly, games like this do a great job of teaching and reinforcing spacial concepts in a fun environment. If something is making sounds on your left, knowing that you need to turn to the left to face it or move in that direction, may sound basic, but it is a critical concept for blind students to grasp. Games like this help teach such skills. So, in short, thank you to the developers of this game. I look forward to future versions and would happily pay money for a game such as this.
#16 Great points
Jim,
I never thought about these things, but wow! You're totally right. I wish I had games like this when I was a kid learning about space.
#17 Rubber Ducky App
The developers thank everyone for their great comments and hope that all enjoy the 3D audio innovation in Where's My Rubber Ducky. A new version is expected in a few months. All comments received here will be put on the list of todo's. However, multi-player may be a bit to much for the moment.. (smile).
If you like the game, it would be great if you would also add a review in the appstore itself. Untill then enjoy unlimited zombie shooting: http://itunes.apple.com/nl/app/wheres-my-rubber-ducky/id515304336
#18 I love the game and yeah I
I love the game and yeah I also wish I would have had this stuff when I was a kid, although that probably would have given me nightmares. lol! Keep up the grate work on the game. I love the sound of the spent shells dropping as what sounds like a 45 is fired at the enemy. I would do a tffp podcast on this game, except my board decided it would take the nice opportunity to die, but once I get new equipment if that ever happens expect a podcast on this game, and a live one at that. again good job. Oh and did I mention it would be neat if this were some how linked to game center? that way you can try and beat your buddies. lol!
#19 anyone know what's new in the latest update?
Hi,
I just saw that an update for this game is available in itunes, but I couldn't see any what's new info on the app store page for this version.
Is the game finally beatable? or are we just stuck on level 17 still?
#20 no, it still stop in level
no, it still stop in level 17. nothing changed.
#21 Probably some under the hood
Probably some under the hood stuff. I do like the left right thing and I also wish more games can incorporate that. I also could not see what was new so probably a lot of under the hood stuff. lol!
#22 Small changes
A friend said that they resolved some bugs, but other than that, nothing seems to be added or changed.
